I volunteered as a medic assistant at Metro EMS ambulance services.
Responsibilities:
Receive and respond to emergency calls.
Identify and prioritise patient’s state of emergency.
Patient care, i.e. assist patients in emergency scenarios and administer necessary medication.
Cleaning and sanitising the ambulance after each call-out.
Administrative work. This includes a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, patient report forms (patient information, vital signs report, signs and symptoms report); start of shift checklists; required stock checklists; and data-capturing the aforementioned forms.
