The 2*300MW GMR EMCO ENERGY LIMITED thermal power plant in warora, chandrapur district, Maharashtra, India commissioned in 2012.

Fuel: LDO, HFO, PULVERSIED COAL.

Boiler - Subcritical, Single Reheat, Balance Draft, Tangential Firing - Coal Fired, Dry Bottom furnace, BMCR-1014 T/H.

Turbine - Tandem Compound, Regenerative, Reheat Cylinder having single flow HP Turbine, Single Flow IP Turbine, Double Flow LP Turbine with 8 Extraction, TMCR910.9T/H.

Generator - Two pole, Hydrogen and water inner cooled windings, MW Rating 300/20KV, MVA Rating- 353, Brushless Excitation system.

BTG Make- Shanghai Electric Corporation, Shanghai, China.

Job Responsibilities:

DCS operator with 8years of comprehensive knowledge of power plant start- Up, shut down, & in emergency situations.

Unit stabilization (Operation) by strictly following SOP s & LOTO system as a desk operator

Logging the daily activities, schedule change overs, schedule trail runs, reporting the activities to UCE, raising the notification in SAP and follow-up, preparing the reports and monitoring the unit at rated parameters.

Plant operation as process owner, prompt & timely response during emergency, coordinate start-up/shut down activities, successful execution of PG test with Shanghai Electric.

Coordination with other department personals for a smooth & reliable operation of equipment.

Give necessary instruction / direction to field engineers. To check and ensure the assigned field jobs are completed and recorded timely.

Shutdown planning & isolation of all 6.6 KV & 0.4KV drives equipment s by electrical and mechanically by following standard isolating procedures.

Checking equipment healthiness in each shift.

Adhere to safety and strictly follow PTW system on day to day activity.

Skill Set

On site monitoring of Erection & Commissioning activities for Power Plant Auxiliaries & Equipment s.

Prepared Standard operating procedures (SOP) and Standard isolating procedures (SIP) for FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEM.

Continuous improvement plans on BTG system which turns Profit to plant annual budget.

Operated pilot DM plant for 5 months and produced DM water for Chemical cleaning of Unit#1.

Involved in commissioning activities in BOP area for 3 months.

Involved in commissioning activities in Turbine area of unit#2 for 6 months.

Executing the Erection and Commissioning activities accordance with the Manufacture standard Manuals & Approved drawings and specifications, agreed procedures and method statements with the specified Quality Management.

BTG Equipments Protection logic circuit Verification and DCS operation

Responsible for Protection and Logic Simulation & verification for Tripping Conditions and Start Permissives as Commissioning Engineer by Coordinating with Instrumentation Dept and Shangai Eletric Company (SEC)Engineers.

Preparation of Pre-Commissioning checklist,Protocols and Commissionig report for all the BTG Equipments by Conducting joint Inspection and guidance from Chinese.

Conducting the Coordination daily meeting with Contractors and Our Electrical and C&I depart for Commissioning requirement & Techincal issues along with SEC.

Acquired great Opportunity to work on all phase of same project of 2*300MW and hence got Sound knowledge and Working Experience right from Erection to Commissioning of Boiler Rotary Equipment and DCS operation during Critical Time of Commissioing Activity like Chemical Cleaning to light up and Synchronisation to grid.

Identifying system improvement plans to reduce heat rate, Auxiliary power consumption and DM water consumption.
