WORK EXPERIENCE

Data Scientist Intern

Wisesoft Co., Ltd, Chengdu, China March 2019 - June 2019

• Participated in the development and optimization of airport voice monitoring and recognition system, mainly responsible for real-time voice segmentation technology optimization and data testing and training under acoustic model.

• Acquired audio data of conversations between pilots and air traffic controllers from airports and segmented it using velocity activity detection technology (VAD) with Python. By using some methods like automatic gain control technology (AGC) and reading half of each voice block repeatedly, the segmentation accuracy of our system reaches 98 percent.

• Preprocessed and tested improved training audio data within the constructed model and compare the text generated by artificial annotation and the model in Linux environment and Docker platform, and counted the word error rate (WER). By modifying and optimizing the model through the generated new words and wrong words, the error rate of the model has dropped by 8 percent over three months.

Chengdu Shengweitongda Co., Ltd, Chengdu, China February 2018 - August 2018

• Designed the interface of weather monitoring and control platform, which sent request and data that got from different moni- toring points, to related department to artificially control the extreme weather, including part of main interface, menu bar and relative sub windows with QT language.

• Used SQL language to do interactive operation between database and interface on related data such as the time and location of extreme weather.

• Created a new client-side for each operator to log in and established the connection of this client-side to our server.

Strategy game with chat room, team school project

Rice University (in progress) October 2020 - December 2020

• Developing a multiplayer versus mini-game in which each team has a chat room and develops strategy through mutual commu- nication. Under certain conditions, each team member needs to move from different initial cities to the same target city as soon as possible.

• Using MVC framework, strategy design, command design and other patterns to connect view, controller and model.

• Building the chat room, team member, map and other objects and realizing the connection between the chat room and the map using Java.

Backtesting System, team project

• Built a website to analyze the performance of trading strategies by simulating them in a virtual market.
