Athletic Director:

• Responsible for directing and administering athletic programs for a large school district in the State of Pennsylvania which comprises 4,400 students (grades 9-12). Administer 4 middle schools with an aggregate student populace of 4,000 students.

• Responsible for the leadership, management, organization and administration of 7-12 interscholastic athletic programs, fielding teams in cross country, soccer, water polo, volleyball, tennis, basketball, wrestling, swimming, indoor/outdoor track and field, baseball, softball, football, and golf.

• Recruitment, hiring, supporting, developing, and evaluating the school’s coaches; ensuring that the department operates in accordance with school’s policies, procedures, philosophy and mission; developing and encouraging effective communication within the department; developing and overseeing annual budgeting and athletic purchases; directing day-to-day operations in athletics, including practice schedules, facilities needs, and transportation.

• Worked with school superintendent, athletic trainer, program coordinators, administrative assistant as well as a large staff of full-time and part-time coaches. Work collaboratively with school’s principals and department chairs, performing arts chair and co-chairs of the physical education department.

• Schedule 20 varsity sports and 32 non-varsity sports (football, baseball, basketball, track, swimming, wrestling, field hockey and soccer).

• Coordinated the use of all athletic facilities for the Reading School District, youth groups and city recreational programs.

• Responsible for administering all extracurricular and co-curricular programs, activities and events at the elementary, middle and high schools level.

• Prepared performance appraisals and act as a coach and mentor to twenty Varsity coaches.

• Managed media relations regarding print, radio and television; keeping them apprised of all significant events in the district.

• Negotiated with vendors for equipment, supplies, and services. Leveraged contracts based on district needs.

• Collaborated and engaged associations with other athletic/recreational programs in the Reading School District, including Olivet’s Boys/Girls club, YMCA, Reading American Little League and the, Police Athletic League (PAL)
