Resume:

Brandon K. Simmons

Upstream E&P/Seismic Data Analyst 832-***-**** ph)

(adiucl@r.postjobfree.com email)

Discipline: Geoscience Support & Seismic Information Management

Experience: 16 Years Industry Relevant, 19 Years Total Work Experience

CAREER SUMMARY

Upstream Information Management professional approaching 20 years in the oil and gas industry, including two independent exploration companies, Halliburton – Landmark Graphics Corporation, Chevron North America, and ExxonMobil. Areas of expertise include Geoscience support in multi-functional asset teams, centralized seismic support teams, seismic data management, seismic and well data loading, data migration, and data integration. Major projects include several successful migrations from early Petrel to Petrel with Studio, OpenWorks R2003 to R5000, OpenWorks R2003 to Paradigm Epos 4, SMT to OpenWorks, SMT to Paradigm Epos 4.1, and large-scale data integrations at multiple super-majors. Most recently, I led the seismic tape transcription project for ExxonMobil, which was a massive ~$5 million-dollar undertaking. This project involved designing all necessary workflows to pull approximately 6 million legacy seismic magnetic tapes out of the Underground Vaults and Storage salt mine in Kansas, subsequently loading the seismic data into a cloud computing solution. I also managed vendor payroll verification & project budget tracking, logistics (salt mine in Kansas to Houston), magnetic tape to USB transfer point, metadata capture, and a new loading process which yielded a 98% decrease in turnaround time for seismic data loading. I presented this at PNEC 2019 as the first speaker from ExxonMobil in 8 years. Following that project, I created the roadmap for the Digital Transformation effort currently underway at ExxonMobil, allowing seismic data to be loaded in a highly automated environment with little hands-on interaction. The business lines will receive a more complete seismic product (using ML & AI written by Computational Data Sciences to pick the faults and water bottoms) while maintaining the highest level of data quality. This allowed my team to pivot away from seismic data loading and other menial tasks so their geophysical skills could be utilized to bring immediate uplift to the business lines. These changes brought an increase in efficiency of over 900%.
