CROWN FLOUR MILLS (Jan, 2018 – till date)

Ilorin Plant, Kwara State – Electrical Department

Electrical Engineer

Major responsibilities include the following:

Coordinating and supervising maintenance activities and routine tests on 33KV dedicated line and 11KV distribution networks within the plant.

Preparing daily departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with a view to keeping track on the specific power consumption in the load centres.

Carrying out preventive maintenance on electrical equipment such as Circuit breakers (ACBs and VCBs), Transformers (7.5MVA, 3.15MVA, 2.5MVA, 1.5MVA), Electric motors, UPS, variable frequency drives, PLC etc.

Overseeing the planning and execution of preventive maintenance checklist.

Planning departmental manpower requirement, deployment and shift schedule.

Preparing and sharing with team members and the plant manager root cause analysis (RCA) of critical equipment failures with comprehensive preventive measures clearly spelt out.

Carrying out routine inspection on equipment such as Hammer Mills, Pelletizer,Hygienizer, Boilers, Extruder and electrical panels etc., with a view to evaluating their operational conditions.

Providing technical support and guidance on installation of electrical equipment and machinery.

Ensuring efficient energy management through closed monitoring and reviewing of key performance indices.

Troubleshooting and rectification of Electrical, instrumentation & automation related faults.

Tracking and Planning spare parts requirement of the department.

Ensuring safety standards, especially LOTO system, are strictly adhered to in all areas of maintenance and the plant at large

Handling any other responsibility as delegated by Chief Engineer.

DANGOTE CEMENT PLANT (August 2013 – December 2017)

Obajana Plant, Kogi State – Intsrumentation Department

Instrumentation Technician.

Major responsibilities include the following:

Organize, Coordinate Work and proper documentation of job and spare part used during and after repaired.

Maintenance, operations, planning, executing and optimizing planned, preventive and corrective maintenance projects for variety of Conveyors field instruments, reclaimer, stacker machines, and crusher field instruments.

Training and guiding teams while rendering technical engineering support and developing practical solutions where necessary in order to resolve technical problems.

Assembly, implementation and testing of a wide range of machine and hydraulic systems.

Field operations, Team organization, First line maintenance, and routine inspection, start up and shut down of facilities, Isolation of equipment’s in the following cement plant section/machines: kiln, raw mill, cement mill, coal mill, crusher, reclaimer, stacker/packers.

Installation, maintain and repair of different field sensors, Thermocouples, RTD, Pressure Sensors.

Installation and calibration of different capacity of Mettler Toledo scales.

Monitoring various machines while on duty to avoid loss of parts and down time.

Installation and maintenance of VFD, soft starters and other electrical drives.

Effective maintenance on level, flow, speed sensors and pressure switches.

Supervision of electrical and implementation of electrical design during project work.

Modification and alternative solutions to machines, to ensure equipment reliability and avoid operational down time.
