Ford Motor Company, MI

• Worked in Product Development with purchasing, finance, engineering, buyers, cost estimating, and the supply base on the various elements of the architecture process and set targets for both Ford and Lincoln programs. Researched competitive products for their interior commodities like Floor Console, Instrument Panels, Door trim, and build part order details for future analysis.

• Conducted physical part teardown and detailed study for interior commodity and developed Bill of Material (BOM)/Engineering Concept Document for each competitive product and surrogate vehicle within Ford.

• Collaborated with Engineering Design and Creative Design Team for generating technical solutions for new generation programs by understanding the amount of complexity for various trim levels.

• Utilized 3D CAD data in Teamcenter and CATIA V5 to understand the assembly and develop Bill of Material/Engineering Concept Documents. Developed SCAAF, MSOW, Design Verification Plan, and Report (DVP&R) and performed failure mode effect analysis during design review. Requested quotes from suppliers for BOM.

• Lead weekly supplier meetings to foster open communication about design and ensure things are on track with the supplier and, the supported questions related to Engineering Concept Document and surrogate design data.

• Worked with cross-functional teams like creative design, engineering design CAE, purchasing, and studio to align on architecture strategy based on extensive research for the new floor console themes.

• Experience in working with material cost analysis, manufacturing, injection molding, extrusion, and intrusion processes.

• Worked on the new generation of Ford Mustang, Explorer, Expedition, F-150, and Lincoln Nautilus, Navigator with studio team on new floor console design and development of class A surface.

• Studied different manufacturing techniques, finishes such as grained mold-in-color (MIC), IMGL with stitching, Foam in Place

(FIP), and material such as PVD Copper, spinelle, leather, and fabric for new floor console to decide the correct materials for all the trims of the vehicle depending on the volume of the floor consoles for each trim, based on customer requirements and financial budget for the program.

• Worked on cost estimation for different materials depending on the dimensions and type of material being selected for various themes, also calculated the piece cost price with their tooling.

• Developed Request for Information (RFI) documents & Request for Quote (RFQ) for suppliers.

• Evaluated vehicle electrical architectures, HVAC components, and decorative trim along with other engineers for new floor console themes.

• Ensured that programs met federal safety requirements along with Ford's internal design specs and customer’s expectations.

• Resolved issues in the team of four related to setting cost targets, target dates, and prepared a presentation for the board committee for getting suppliers on board.

• Assisted Design and Release engineer for Mid-Cycle-Action (MCA) programs dealing with design change or material change.

• Knowledge of vehicle development process (GPDS), change control process (WERS), Team Center Engineering, FEDEBOM, AVBOM, DFMEA’s, DVP’s, root cause analysis, and MS Office Suite 365. Mechanical Engineer Intern: Automotive Benchmarking MAY 2019 - AUG 2019 Caresoft Global Inc., MI

• Automotive Benchmarking marking of heavy-duty vehicles. By, tearing down the vehicle to part level and study each component's material, manufacturing process, design, and analyzing the Cost reduction.

• Benchmarking of suspension and chassis, interior system, exterior system, body, and powertrain. Comparing the part by part details of each system and carrying out CAE analysis.

• Measurement of Automotive parts like pedal system, 5th wheel hitch, engine system, Propeller shaft using a

• Investing material to identify basic material groups.

• Initial GAP and Flush measurements are the assembled state of the vehicle. Experience in using GD&T for 2D sketches for the development of CAD models.

• BOM management of the teardown vehicle parts, like an axle, front bumper, rear bumper, seats, and many other parts, their entry in the DAS tool, along with their part weight and measurement.

• Data acquisition during tear-down of vehicle, storage, and part display. Managing the inventory for the part display of the teardown parts.

• Validating the data from the optical scan and AutoCAD generated data by using physical measuring tools such as Vernier calipers, gauges. Have experience in using Vernier calipers, different types of gauges used in physical measurement, ultrasonic gauges for measuring the thickness of the material.

• Experience in validating the 3D model in CREO by physical validation of parts of the automotive components using various measuring instruments.

• Also, Studied the design of Seats of both the vehicles when the seats were fully assembled and after tearing down of the vehicles. Also, the frame structure, Lumbar mechanism, seat cover material of both the vehicle and comparing them.

• Comparing both the vehicle frames. On basis of the type of weld such as fillet, seamless welds, design of the frame, supporting structure, front bumper, rear bumper, the thickness of the frame, type of metal used for the frame, how many parts are joint together to form a frame to reduce those for cost saving of material. Studying the strength of the frame. ACADEMIC PROJECTS .

Automotive: An Integrated System

• Benchmarking and Preliminary Design Specifications of Ford Fusion 2023: Our target vehicle Ford Fusion was compared with other Mid-Size Sedan Vehicles by Benchmarking; Customer Needs were Studied, and Pugh Analysis was done to get the Best Attributes of it. The Government Regulations Like The EPA, NHTSA Rules were also Studied.

• QFD, Requirement Cascade, and Interface Analysis: A QFD chart was made to link the Customer Requirement with the Technical ones and the Requirement attributes were ranked as per the Priority and Cascading was done. The interface Diagram and Matrix has been developed to Interlink all various Components of each System with each other and their relationships were Displayed. Business Plan Development: A V Model with Program Timing and Gateways were Developed. The Cash Flows Chart, Cumulative Cost, Revenue, and Product Life Cycle (PLC) Chart was developed for Ford Fusion 2023.

• Conceptual Design and Technology Plan: Sketches and Drawings for Ford Fusion 2023 were made with dimensions and all details in a presentable manner. Improvements with new Technological Advancements were Suggested for the Future car and their Possible ways of failures were also determined.

Digital Manufacturing Project:

• Using the 3-D printing technology developed a Hexa-cut 6 cornered Grooving Tool. Did a survey and asked a few questions to companies about what they don't like about the current grooving tool they are using developed a Hexa-cut 6 cornered grooving tool that was designed from the tool using CAD software Lean Canvas, KANO model, FMEA, DFMEA were used for comparing the current and the new grooving tools specification.
