I am a Bachelor of Arts graduate from the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN) majoring in Drama and Performance Studies as well as Media and Cultural Studies coming top of my class two years in a row. I have experience tutoring, online teaching and a bit of assessing during my time in university. I have also travelled around the province with a children’s theatre company going to primary schools and teaching kids aged 5-13 how to read and enforcing this habit through the art of performance.

I volunteered for 2 years to teach English to a small group of kids from my dad’s church from rural areas who knew little to no English every Sunday. I taught vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, etc. and helped with their homework that they got from school. Achievements:
·helped a group of low English skills children speak, read and write in English to a high standard within a few months.
·I helped the kids to increase their English marks at school.

2016-2018
I tutored first year drama classes and gave one-on-one assistance to struggling students or those who wanted help on a specific assignments, practical/written. I did this whilst completing my own degree in university. I was also asked by my lecturer to sit down on the student’s practical performances and help assess them.
Achievements:
Helped a student for the rewrite of their assignment where their mark increased by 20%.
Wrote a feedback report on the students’ efforts towards their practicals.
'Hooked on Books'
2019
I was part of a children’s theatre company called Hooked on Books where me and two other artists/teachers travelled around the province to different primary schools. We encouraged kids to engage in reading through creative and fun activities and games, we performed stories from children’s books, taught them songs, poems, etc.
Achievements:
Made kids want to go to their local and school libraries to get the books we performed
` for them.
Several schools ordered the books we performed for their own library.
Showed different techniques to make learning fun for the kids that the teachers said they were going to utilize in their own classrooms. Online teaching
I started teaching English online in 2019, I am currently teaching a wide range of ages from about 5 years old to adults. I teach all levels of English, one on one classes as well as group classes of up to 6 students in a class.
