Mechanical Design Engineer Intern – Topline switch gear Pvt ltd., Gujarat, India (Sept’17 to Aug’18)

• Created 3D models, BOM, and drawings of injection molding (Plastic), sheet-metal parts and mechanical assemblies for fiber optical hardware, FTTx cabinets and fiber cable management systems.

• Collaborated with other functions to update and release documentation using Agile PLM. Also, to process ECO, ECN, and ER.

• Conducted multi-project management on design planning, cost estimation, time frame control, and to track product life cycle using Agile PLM.

• Developed experimental test programs and calculations to verify the design adequacy of the fiber optic apparatus.

• Built proof-of-concept models and prototypes using in-house 3-D printers to validate design concepts and determine feasibility and manufacturability. Also, performed FEA on designed parts to ensure a successful design, SolidWorks simulation used.

• Responsible for designing new products like hybrid convergence enclosure, co-existence enclosure, fiber slack storage for cable management and underground fiber distribution system with the flood-proof compartment to provide solutions for convenient fiber connectivity for telecommunications infrastructure.

• Improved existing design of the different car parts generated 3D models of sheet metal parts for VIPER using the DFMA and tolerance stack-up concepts.

• Performed FEA on parts of SFV to check deflection and stress on it under specific boundary conditions in the ANSYS AIM.

• Produced 2D prints of VIPER’s parts with proper dimension, notes, tolerances, surface finish and weldment annotation.
