TITLE: Automatic plant irrigation system. (5th SEM) DURATION: 4 months.
OBJECTIVE: The main aim of this project is to provide sufficient amount of water to the plants even in the absence of human beings.
TECHNOLOGY/TOOLS USED: AT895S2 micro controller, DC motor, power supply, probes to soil, sensor circuit.
DESCRIPTION: This automatic plant irrigation system senses the moisture content of the soil and automatically switches the pump when the power is on. The advantage of using an automatic plant irrigator is that it is a simple system capable of conserving water, improving growth, discouraging weeds, saving time, and controlling fungal diseases and adaptable to the conditions
TITLE: Temperature Based Fan speed Controller. (6th SEM) DURATION: 4 months.
OBJECTIVE: The main aim of this project is to control the fan speed automatically based on the temperature of the room.
TECHNOLOGY/TOOLS USED: Arduino board, Temperature sensor and few other components.
DESCRIPTION: Here embedded technology makes this closed-loop feedback-control system efficient and reliable. The microcontroller allows dynamic and faster control and the LCD makes the system user-friendly. Sensed temperature and fan speed levels are simultaneously displayed on the LCD panel. It can be implemented for several applications including air- conditioners, ovens, heat exchangers, incubators. The project will help save energy/electricity. TITTLE: Acoustic Event Recognition for the application of surveillance system. DURATION: 6 months.
OBJECTIVE: The main aim of this project is to detect the road accidents by analysing audio streams to identify hazardous situations such as tire skidding and car crashes. TECHNOLOGY/TOOLS USED: Speech recognition technology like Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients. (MFCC) and Perceptual linear predictive coefficients (PLP). Mat lab tool DESCRIPTION: Nowadays, several systems based on video analysis have been proposed for automatically detecting accidents on roads to ensure a quick intervention of emergency teams. However, in some situations, the visual information is not sufficient or sufficiently reliable, whereas the use of microphones and audio event detectors can significantly improve the overall reliability of surveillance systems.
