JOANA RATTES
WHO AM I
As a microbiologist I am quite methodical and analytical. That allows me to get reproducibility and control of project results. I am comfortable with multidisciplinary approaches allowing me to understand the processes globally without missing out the focus on the specific. My masters was focused on microbe-plant macro and molecular interactions.
I like to deal with people and groups and have maturity, which helps to establish a good personal dynamic amongst team members, going well with situations that require reproducibility, on standalone projects or in a workflow.
Coupled with my technical research knowledge, this allows me to evaluate, develop and execute quality control – especially microbiological– and research protocols with ease.
I currently work analyzing data and translating them into information about user experience in a governmental online system. During my professional path I have worked with analysis and regulations in different fields and applications. Also as a research assistant I help coordinating procedures and schedules form project design, as well as performing bench protocols.
I have experience with basic microbiological and biomolecular techniques (fungal and bacterial culture, transformation, q-PCR, chromatography, Southern/Western blot as well as immunoenzymatic essays), knowledge in sequencing and bioinformatics.
