Research
2020 - Current Impact of behavioral variables (physical exercise) on the development, worsening and hospitalization of people with COVID-19
Description: COVID-19, a pandemic disease of global proportions, caused by the SARS-Cov-2 virus that
presents a clinical picture ranging from asymptomatic infections to severe respiratory conditions. About
80% of people may be asymptomatic and 20% of cases may require hospital care
respiratory dificuldade. Among these cases, approximately 5% may require
supportive treatment of respiratory failure with ventilatory support, which is usually
represent the most severe form of the disease. However, it has already been proposed that this disease affects the
blood, immunological and respiratory primarily, all enhanced by physical exercise, the
that it was possible to formulate the hypothesis that people who practiced physical exercises regularly before
contraction of the disease may have had a lower incidence of severe form and did not require
hospitalization and ventilatory support. With this the aim of this research project is to identify and
whether the level of exercise prior to COVID-19 influences the outcome of the disease as well as the
whether this practice may represent one on the outcome of the disease. To this end, a questionnaire
has been formulated, tested and validated to be submitted to people who have had the disease.
It is expected to findevidence about the positive effect of physical exercise on the
development of this disease that has been plagued the planet. This project is a consortium that has
participation of PhD Professors in four continents, more than 10 countries andoutside
approved by the National Health Council, through the Ethics Committee on Research with Human
Federal University of Acre under the number of CAAE 35349520.5.0000.5010. This project
