SUMMARY OF 38 years of experience has been gained in the inspection of fusion

EXPERIENCE welding in the construction stages of various offshore installations working to a variety of different codes, standards and specifications. Experience gained working for both Contractor and Client.

Initially worked in Scotland on major Projects for the North Sea and latterly abroad, having spent the last 20 years at various fabrication yards in Holland, Italy, USA, South Korea and Malaysia.

July ’20 - Oct ‘20 DEME Group

Position: QC Inspector

Employed as QC Inspector on the Moray East Wind Farm Project at Nigg Energy Park, Scotland.

Duties included Mechanical/Welding inspection on Jackets from fabrication yards in Dubai prior to being transported offshore to location at the Moray East Wind Farm off Wick. Involved in Arrival inspections, Internal and Final Inspection SAT’s. Generating initial punchlist items for Contractor, GEG and finalizing punchlists items for carry over work to offshore. Monitor all ongoing NDT activities on repair work and sea fastening and review Reports to be included in final As-built documentation dossier.

JULY ’19 - DEC 2019 Bi-Fab

Position: QA/QC Inspector

Employed as QA/QC Inspector on the construction of Piles for the Moray East Offshore Wind Farm Project.

Duties include pre-weld, in-process and post weld inspections. Coordinating of all NDT activities to ensure compliance with the specification requirements. Final Visual Inspection of completed Piles and review of Final Documentation Packages prior to sailaway.

NOV ’18 - Dec ‘18 ALLRIG Ltd

Position: NDT Inspector

Employed as an NDT Inspector on the Re-Inspection of the Jackets for

the East Anglia 1, Wind Farm Project.

Duties were to carry out UT re-inspection on the main TKY and Brace

welds of the jackets at the Harland and Wolff Heavy Industries fabrication

yard in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

JUNE ’17 - JAN ‘18 Bi-Fab

Position: QA/QC Inspector

Employed as QA/QC Inspector on the construction of Jacket Transition Pieces for the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm Project.

Duties include pre-weld, in-process and post weld inspections. Coordinating of all NDT activities to ensure compliance with the specification requirements. Final Visual Inspection on Transition Pieces and review of Final Documentation Packages prior to sailaway.

JUNE ’11- FEB ’16 KJVG/CHEVRON on the GORGON Project

Position: NDE Lead

Employed as NDE Lead during the construction stages of the GORGON Project for Barrow Island at the Hyundai Heavy Industries facility in Ulsan, South Korea.

Responsible for all NDT relating to both Structural and Pipework during construction of the Modules for Barrow Island.

This includes, the review and approval of all HHI and Sub-Contract NDE

personnel Certification. Also, the approval of all UT technicians working on the Gorgon Project by Written and Practical tests to the requirements of API RP2X. The review and approval of contractors NDE Procedures and associated NDE documents.

Involved with AUT (PAUT/TOFD) activities performed by HHI. Review of Procedures, witness of demonstrations and review of data.

Coordinating all Company Crosscheck activities (UT and RT film review) and review of NDE documentation.

Working closely with both Structural and Systems Verification Inspection Teams to ensure that NDE is being carried out as per the specification requirement.

JAN ’07 - JUNE ‘11 Shell Sabah Petroleum Company Ltd.

Position: NDE Lead / Senior Welding Inspector

Employed as NDE Lead/Senior Welding Inspector on the construction of the Gumusut - Kakap, Semi Submersible Floating Production System (FPS) at the Malaysia Marine Heavy Engineering (MMHE) yard in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Responsible for all NDE matters relating to both Hull and Topside.

This includes, the approval of all Sub-Contract NDE

personnel by written and practical tests to the requirements of

API-RP2X, reviewing and approving of contractors NDE Procedures,

Coordinating all SSPC Crosscheck activities (UT and RT film review) and review of NDE documentation.

Working closely with both Structural and Systems Verification Inspection Teams to ensure that NDE is being carried out as per the specification requirements.

Also involved in the witness of Welding Procedures and Welder

Qualification carried out by contractor.

AUG ’03 - NOV ‘06 International Inspection Services Inc. representing

SHELL on behalf of SAKHALIN ENERGY INVESTMENT Co.

Position: NDE Lead Inspector/Senior Welding Inspector

Employed as NDE Lead Inspector/ SWI on the construction of the

Lunskoye-A and Piltun –B topsides for the Sakhalin II Phase 2

Project at Samsung Heavy Industries yard in Geoje Island, South

Korea.

Responsible for all NDE matters relating to both Lun-A and PA-B

decks. This includes, the approval of all Sub-Contract NDE

personnel by written and practical tests to the requirements of

API-RP2X, reviewing of all contractors NDE Procedures, coordinating

of all SEIC crosscheck activities (UT and RT film review) and review of

NDE documentation.

Other duties involve the setting up and maintaining of all IMTE

equipment including calibration and certification. Also involved in the

training of WI’s with respect to NDE field surveillance activities,

developing R & R and Performance Agreements for Crosscheckers and

responsible for completing the NDE Portion of the Total Project Close

out Report.

Also involved in the witness of Welding Procedures and Welder

Qualification carried out by contractor.

Also involved in both Structural and Systems Verification Inspection

activities to ensure compliance with the approved drawings, ITP and the

relevant specifications.

JUNE ’01 - JUNE’03 International Construction Management Inc. representing

SHELL INTERNATIONAL E&P Inc.

Position: Structural / Mechanical Systems Inspector

Employed initially as a Verification Inspector with the Structural team and latterly with the Systems team on the construction of the Na-Kika FPU at Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea.

Duties with the Systems team included monitoring of all HHI’s activities relating to Piping, ensuring compliance with the required specifications. Also involved in the review of Hydrotest packages prior to Flushing and Hydrotesting of lines and subsequent re-instatement prior to commissioning.

Duties with the Structural team included the review of HHI’s shop drawings against the Shell AFC drawings, monitoring of Welding Procedure Qualifications and Welder Qualification Tests. Also monitoring of HHI’s fabrication and welding activities to ensure compliance with the relevant specifications, inspection of all Block assemblies prior to painting, including documentation, carry out welder audits, crosschecking of NDT personnel and interpretation of radiographs.

Following sailaway from HHI, I was employed at the Host readiness site at the Kiewit Offshore yard in Ingleside, Texas. Duties involved verification of all Construction punchlist items, both Structural and Piping and also verification of addional work scope carried out by the contractor.

Position: Structural Verification Inspector

Employed as a welding inspector on the construction stage of the

BRUTUS TLP HULL at Daewoo Heavy Industries yard in Okpo,

South Korea.

Duties involved monitoring of the contractors fabrication and welding

activities to ensure compliance with the required specifications.

The release of Block Assemblies from the fabrication/welding stage to

the coating stage. Review of the documentation packages for the

relevant Block Assemblies prior to release.

Other duties included Structural Verification of various tanks to ensure

completion as per clients AFC drawings, crosschecking of contractors

NDT personnel, interpretation of radiographs and welder audits on

the various welding processes by the contractor/sub contractor.
