Well planning, AFE, Economics evaluation.

Integrated well planning in collaboration with surface and subsurface discipline. Provide Production technology inputs. Review well placement options, sub-surface targets, reservoir properties, seismic plays/ non-conformances, required well logs, estimated reserves and planned production, estimate well cost and economic indicators. Progress through Management reviews/ presentations for approval. Apply DWOP. Contributed to generated new Oil (18,000 bopd/yr) in Dukhan re-development. Provided completion design/ commission new wells 1,500 bopd per well).

Well Integrity & management systems (WIMS).

Manage integrity of wells to ensure operating within the safe envelope. Estimate MASP, request Annular pressure measurements and reports, recommend follow up actions and execute them (shut-in, work-over, Abandonment etc). Maintain a live database of non-compliant wells (Tubing leak, HCHP, Leaking Xmass tree/well). Functioned as Well integrity focal point in SPDC Nigeria, managed WIMS database, identified wells for integrity workover in SPDC and in QP.

Well design, construct, modify & Abandon.

Carry out conceptual design of wells including casing, tubing, downhole completion strategy etc. Challenge Drilling detailed design to conform with well objective. Monitor Rig operations and contribute to ensure KPIs are met, initiate/ follow up MOCs, Interpret cased hole logs and make recommendations to Rig for operations. Prepare abandonment proposals and follow up execution during Rig operations. Carried out well design in SPDC and QP for new wells, W/O wells & Abandonment wells. Successfully championed re-design observation wells in QP.

Well /Reservoir Management, Surveillance and Production optimization.

Carry out proactive daily surveillance/ monitoring of wells to ensure operation within safe envelope. Review well performance and identify sub-optimal wells. Recommend remedial actions and implement such as Bean change, Acid stimulation, water shut-off, Zone change, Rig repairs etc. Carry out gaslift design for wells. Install / operate gaslift and optimize by utilizing liftgas optimally and evaluating valve performance/ entire gaslift system performance. Unlocked potentials with cost savings from Stimulation ($30,000 per well).

Inflow & Outflow Performance (IPM model).

Generated well models with IPM PROSPER or other suitable software for field Oil wells, Gas wells, Water and Gas injection wells to predict future well performance. Used actual inflow measurement data including Productivity index, Pressure and Production test, Reservoir and fluid properties, downhole tubing completion data, Wellhead, Flowline parameters and Manifold information etc. Prepared well models in SPDC using different software SAM, WePS, Horvip, PIPESIM, IPM/PROSPER. Used IPM/PROSPER to generate well models in Dukhan field (more than 600 wells) Qatar Petroleum.

Sand failure prediction/ sand control design.

Utilize reservoir mechanical parameters, pressure information, fluid characteristics, log data etc to carry out sand failure prediction studies to identify reservoirs/ well drainage points with failure tendencies. Propose optimum Sand control methods for wells in the field.

Carried out FIST modelling for KC field and identified opportunities to optimize Sand control strategy with cost saving of $0.6M and oil gain of 600 bopd. Recommended a change of Sand control philosophy resulting in $1M savings. Monitored sand production in SPDC wells, identified wells with sand issues, recommended appropriate remedial action (W/O, Rigless repairs, Bean down, shut-in).

Damage & Inflow Performance improvement, Well completion, W/O & Rigless (CTU, W/L).

Review performance of wells and identify problem wells (high water-cut, High GOR, Low productivity, High sand production, Annular pressure, Tubing communication, Depleted/Flushed zones etc) for intervention. Identify cause of well impairment (drilling operations chemicals, LCM, Kill fluids, Drilling fluids, previous treatment chemicals, production practices) etc. Identify adequate treatment plan, method and procedure. Rank the wells based on cost, benefit analysis do-ability, complexity etc. Identified 12 W/O opportunities which generated + 12,000 bopd and restored integrity of wells.

1). Qatar Petroleum, Doha. Qatar (February 2007 - July 2020)

Dept: Operated Onshore Oil Field Development Position: Senior Petroleum Engineer.

Key Activities:

Actively participated in integrated well planning, provided technically sound P.T contributions and followed-up Rig operations. Collaborated with Operations to safely put online/ flow back/ test new wells (10/yr), validate test data, and delivered 1,500 bopd/well (7.2 MMbbls oil).

Delivered full Life cycle Completion Design for Oil producers, Water injectors, Gas Producers, Gas injectors, and observation wells. Managed field Water injection & Gas Recycling project.

Conducted detailed review of PWI wells stimulation and developed a statistical model to identify stimulation candidates/ successful jobs, identified production optimization candidates and prepared/issued Proposals for execution (800 bopd oil gain).

Developed maintained PROSPER IPM well models for new wells (25/ yr) until well is matured.

Carried out Gaslift design and optimization (FBHP, CO2 Tracer) & developed corporate best practice document in collaboration with operations team.

Participated in MDT jobs planning with REs & Petrophysiscists (selection of points for pressure sampling & pump-out) for fluid contact determination for new wells placement optimization.

Delivered PIPESIM network model for KC-offshore field form scratch, with the Production System Optimisation recommending lowering the Separator pressure (150 bopd gain).
