Academic Project (M.Tech):
Experimental Studies on the Impact of Platinum Alloy Catalyst Composition and Variable Catalyst Loadings on Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cell Performance
Project Guide: Dr.S.V.Naidu, Professor
Objective of the work is on Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cell Catalyst. Platinum used in this fuel cells are of high cost and less available.
In the present study alternative to Platinum catalyst, which is alloys of platinum is studied.
The present experiment is conducted with different compositions and loading rates of Platinum-Ruthenium alloy supported by carbon on proton exchange membrane fuel cells.
The current densities and power densities of each composition with different loading rates are recorded, which are compared with commercially available Platinum supported on carbon.
Future works to be carried recommended in the report for the commercial usage of the catalyst.
Research Interest:
Development of fuel cells, membranes and Electro Catalysts.
Academic Project (B.Tech):
Simulation of Urea Process using ASPEN PLUS
Project Guide: Dr.K.Siva Kumar, Assistant Professor
This project presents a simulation study of production of urea using ASPEN PLUS (Advanced system for process engineering).
During the simulation process different property models like Ideal, Wilson, UNIQUAC are used and observed the variation in outlet urea composition.
The project further extended with brief study of the impact of various process parameters on the urea exit composition, such as Mass flowrate of ammonia, Medium pressure decomposer temperature and pressure, low pressure decomposer pressure and temperature.
Finally, different parameters are optimized to obtain the better yield of urea.
