WORK EXPERIENCE

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERN: Building Drops, Inc., Dania Beach, FL (Link) (May 2020 – Current)

• Collaborated directly with Senior Engineer to come up with the best possible solutions of fenestration industry according to current FBC standards and predict customer preferences and maximized customer satisfaction by 21%.

• Prepared Project Evaluation Reports (PER) by calculating the pressures, stresses, and strains that each component is likely to experience from other parts of the structure, or from external pressures such as wind and waves.

• As per the test plans, prepared CAD designs of windows, doors, and other products using AUTOCAD for simulation purposes in ANSYS, updated calculations using Excel, worked on multiple spreadsheets simultaneously & structured BOMs (Bill of Materials).

• Thorough research on various combinations of products based on design intent, performance requirements, and budget.

• Independently performed stress, tolerance, and failure analyses on double hung windows for Andersen Windows as per the new test standards, prepared CAD models as per the new test plans, and completed the project 1 month prior to the deadline.

GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT, University of South Florida, Tampa, FL (Jan 2020 – May 2020)

• Collaborated with professor to facilitate course curriculum construction, project assignments, material preparation for Fracture Mechanics (EML 6570). Reviewed papers to be published in high impact Journals like Journal of Electrostatics and Acta Materialia.

• Revised lesson materials, developed rubrics, provided tutoring to students about Mechanical Behaviors of Materials, Fatigue, Stress analysis and Successfully delivered 3 sessions independently to a class size of 30, comprised of graduates and undergraduate students.

GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT, University of South Florida, Tampa, FL (Link) (Aug 2019 – May 2020)

• Performed tasks pertaining to the acquisition of data, development of materials, & the utilization of methods to facilitate energy harvesting from human movements for highly complex, wearable, wireless medical devices.

• Developed CAD models of masks to be printed on silicon substrates as photolithography masks. Used 3D printers to manufacture test bed base. Used plasma therm techniques to pattern (Pyramid, square, cubical) on the films by wet etching methods.

• Characterized the range of materials for most biocompatible material using SEM, EDS, AFM for the best use in wearable devices.

• Successfully constructed a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) to be used as sensor by subsequently boosting the overall efficiency by 3.5% and assessed within controlled environments on my own Test bed built in lab, Instron Machine and UTM.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERN, Sparkline Equipments Pvt. Ltd., Pune, IND (May 2019 – Aug 2019)

• Analyzed and produced initial technical CAD drawings of EOT and JIB Cranes, interfaced with clients to identify customized specifications and produced final drafts for several material handling systems.

• Using CAD and numerical method solutions, reduced equivalent stresses up to 74.8% and improved customer satisfaction by giving them alternate detailed design approaches eliminating minor axis bending, torsion and out of plane hinge thrust forces.

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER, Saksham Mechanical Industries, Pune, IND (July 2017 – July 2018)

• Designed and manufactured (Bottom up) a collection of Suction Vessels, Knockout Drums, Reactors, Evaporators and Air Purgers in accordance with national and international standards under Third party agencies like LLOYD, BV, TUV to develop 3D models (using PV Elite software) as well as identified problems to improve the production efficiency using DOE, FMEA respectively.

• Executed thermal simulations of shell & tube heat exchanger to minimize the errors due to vibrations under different baffle arrangement and orientation, quality control assessments and statistical data analysis for producing evaluation reports.

• Applied PFMEA to identify the risks associated, generated Pareto analysis of failures & components of HE cycles, based on RPN analysis listed the components which needs to be addressed first, coordinated with design & manufacturing team using Windchill PLM software.

• Reduced customer cost by 5% and boosted machine functionality by studying material properties & providing suggestions, as per customer specifications, for accurate material use and maintained Material Orders at times.
