Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong knowledge to use & control the Total Station Equipment (Leica, Sokkia, Topcon, Pentax and Nikon & Horizon) & Auto level, GPS, Dumpy level & Theodolite etc. to use in major construction survey work.

Knowledge of auto CAD, MS Office, e-survey, networking and drafting or other engineering tasks.

Knowledge of types of drawing, effective practices, methods, techniques and tools for land survey work.

Knowledge of construction, mechanical erection, structures alignment and estimation the quantity of earth work.

Confident and able to work independently. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Has the ability to read plans correctly and calculate size.

Ability to mentor other staff in the department i.e. survey assistants.

The ability to tell if something goes wrong or is likely to go wrong.

Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure work in projects properly. Working as a team and constantly understanding workload.

Job description & Responsibility:

Responsible for conducting survey works particularly on TBM fixing, control Points established, Fixing of center line as per approved coordinates.

Performs site survey works for layouts, positions, levels, elevations etc. required for various construction / erection activities.

Provide control and construction type surveys with relevant plans for thermal power, hydro power, roads, highway, buildings, drainage, sewerage, Tank and civil / oil and gas piping construction projects.

Oil jetty area to quay area new oil pipe line centre Point layout and level marking.

Tank center point and annular plate radius & degree layout. Roundness and plumbness check with total station. Tank settlement level check with auto level. Nozzle’s and pipe support layout as per drawing. Deck slope pipe support, manhole, roof platform, plate ring & support marking.

Tank foundation and bolt coordinates layout as per drawing.

Tank pile point and tank foundation layout and level marking.

Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.

Establish exact alignment of new facilities with the assistance of the Oil and Gas Pipeline, and civil construction, Hydro Power project, Power Transmission Projects and other type of project.

Survey to establish lines and grades within the construction site.

Calculating coordinates for setting out points for civil foundation and bolt & mechanical structures based on their engineering drawings.

Carrying out fieldwork for contour and detail surveys and calculating volume cut and fills in model maker.

Survey accuracy is appropriate for work at hand and Maintain grade stakes as needed by construction or mining operations.

Ensure adherence to safe work practices, including proper use of control measures during fieldwork.

Review horizontal and vertical control diagrams of the project, such as layout and alignment.

Spot check instruments to ensure that they are duly calibrated and for use in good proper adjustments.

Surveys to measure the exact location and measurement, height, line, area and shape for construction, map-making and other purposes.

Maintains accurate notes, records and drawings to describe and authenticate the works performed.

Coordinate work with client surveyors. Keep up to date on mine or construction plans so that survey work for operations can be pro-actively planned.

Preparation of detail horizontally and vertically alignment and topographic surveys for proposed engineering design projects.

Understand and pay attention to other people's thoughts. Dealing with people efficiently and with respect requires cleverness and diplomacy.

Promote a safe working environment and perform other appropriate duties as required.

Has good experience handling survey team for different kinds of work.

Maintain professional standards of dress and behavior.
