Project Engineering Erection and Commissioning
Project Engineering( BI, BE & DE), site supervision of erection & commissioning activities and witnessing the performance test related to Electrical as well as Automation system of Brown field Expansion project of Steel Melt shop, i.e. for Electric Arc Furnace (80 MT), Ladle Furnaces (two), Caster (4 strand), Material Handling System, De-dusting System, Fume treatment plant and water treatment plant supplied by Danieli Italy in the year 2006-2007 along with the substation equipments.
Project Engineering, Site supervision of erection & commissioning activities and witnessing of performance test of the Green field project of Steel melt Shop related to Electrical as well as Automation system i.e. for Electric Arc Furnace (110 MT), Ladle Furnace, Caster (4 strand), Material Handling System, De-dusting System and water treatment plant supplied by Siemens VAI Germany in the year 2013- 2014.
Developing the technical specification and evaluation of the offers of the Industrial control system upgrade project in the steel Melt shop area to fulfill the cyber security requirement by the government of Qatar and implementation of the project by coordinating with the Industrial control system supplier.
Maintenance & Operations
Leading and providing the front line technical support to the Electrical and Automation maintenance team for the steel melt shop and the substation to ensure smooth operation of the electrical equipment, comprising of Substation transformers rated up to 315/160/100MVA, Static-VAR compensator equipment, Furnace transformers(70,74 & 125 MVA), ladle furnace transformers(15 & 30MVA), Load center transformers, Siemens VVVF Drives, LV/MV motors, LV/MV switchgears and its protection system, as well as Automation system comprising of Programmable logic controllers, HMI system, Networking, SIMELT(Siemens Patented) Furnace electrode regulation & HIREG( Danieli patented) Digital Electrode control system.
Executing and scheduling preventive, corrective maintenance and major repair activities as well as the trouble shooting during the unscheduled breakdown of the electrical / automation equipment related to Steel Melt Shop.
Develop long term plan for the CAPEX and the OPEX, for management approval, in order to ensure that plant and equipment maintenance needs are met and production process availability optimized for the coming 5 years.
Manage and control expenditure (spare parts and repair cost) to ensure that costs are either within the planned budget or that additional expenditure is anticipated and fed into overrun plans.
Identify and develop maintenance operating standards, policies and procedures in order to support continuous improvements in operating performance in line with production strategy.
Utilize technical expertise/Experience to assess new technology and recommend its implementation as appropriate in order to support the achievement of continuous production operation at minimum maintenance cost.
Implementation of PTW (Permit to work) & LOTO ( Lockout & Tag out system) in Steel melt shop.
Process Enhancement / optimization Initiatives
Undertaking projects for capacity expansion, modernization, modification & enhancement with a control on process parameters to get optimum production.
Devising and effectuating process schedules during normal as well as in breakdowns and shutdowns.
Analysing various processes/applications recommending modification & equipment calibrations to enhance operational efficiency.
Assigning reliability improvement tasks by considering the major equipment breakdowns and enhance the availability of the equipment.
