Assisted American companies overcome barriers to trade, coordinate interagency Middle East and North Africa policy, and represent the Department at interagency meetings at the State Department and White House. A primary responsibility was arranging for and serving as point-person for executive-level bilateral meetings to advance U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives.

Acting Senior Commercial Officer for Iraq and Qatar from March 2015 – January 2019 in the United States Embassy Baghdad and Doha. As senior officer, I managed office resources in Baghdad and Doha, managed a staff of local Iraqi and Qatari professionals, and managed Department of Commerce programs engaging both markets on international trade law and policy. This included assisting U.S. firms do business in the market and engage foreign government officials and private sector leaders to promote American interests.

Worked closely with senior political leaders to fulfill bilateral and international obligations and oversaw capacity building programs to encourage a legal and regulatory structure conducive to developing a predictable modern commercial environment. Issues addressed ranged from customs and trade to intellectual property protection and enforcement.

Iraq Investment & Reconstruction Task Force, 2008 - 2014; sought through working with the interagency to attract investment in the Iraqi private sector to advance stabilization objectives for Iraq and the region. I worked with both the central government of Iraq, the Kurdistan Regional Government, and the provincial governors.

Ready to deploy to conflict zones to assist in cross-agency stability operations.

Trained in post-conflict and post-natural disaster stabilization techniques, including rule of law, governance, and economic stabilization.
