N C Programming - Composites

Created Design Standards for use with the NDI systems to verify location of various FOD in Composite parts

Created programs for the Ultrasonic Knife machines (Gerber, US40, Lectra and Eastman)

Created Laser Projection programs for precision location of composite ply geometry using LPT laser heads.

Utilized RayTracer software for managing programs. All geometry created using CATIA V5 and Composite Design workbench. (CPD)

Experience:

GKN /PDS TECH - St. Louis, Missouri

Composites Division

04/2017 to 04/2018

N C Programming – Composites/Metal

Using CATIA V5 and Vericut 7.4.1 and 8.0 to revise programs for offload to the Tallasee, Alabama GKN Division.

Converted Henri Leni, Jobes, and MTorees 5 axis programs for use on the 5 axis machines (Zimmerman Z33/Z37) in Tallasee Division, converted the Lectra drag knife composite rolled good cutting machine programs to the Gerber ultrasonic knife cutting machine, along with the conversion of the LPT Laser Projection machines using the RayTracer and TruLaser software.

Using CATIA and UG revised programs to add a secondary post position for the Cincinnati Milicron 3 spindle gantry systems.

Experience:

Nordam/APA Services, - Tulsa, Oklahoma

Nacelle/Thrust Reverser Division

Advance Fiber Placement - N C Programming/Operator

Using CATIA V5 and Ingersoll client software programmed the Ingersoll Lynx 8 axis Advance fiber placement machine.

Operated the Ingersoll Lynx Advance Fiber Placement machine, loading creel with material, monitored head temperature and roller foot pressure. Loaded and unloaded tools onto mandrel. monitored the 16 toes of inch wide graphite materials during the laying process. facilitated repairs when needed.

Using CATIA V5 and Flowmaster software programmed the 5 axis Flow and Onshrud milling/routing/drilling operations.

Bell Helicopter/Cyient, - Amarillo, TX.

2014 - 2015

(On-site) Composites Engineering - N C Programming – Lofting/Nesting

Convert CATIA V4 engineering models to CATIA V6, apply new engineering principles, Composites Work Bench, (CPD) and CATIA FIBER MODELING (CFM) new materials.

Created flat pattern geometry and programs for the composite rolled goods graphite, fiberglass, adhesives, and etc. materials.

Nest flat patterns utilizing the JetCAM software and use JOC/CrossTrack for inserting into Enovia 2013 system.

Other software used PANDA, CAMS, and Programmed for the AGFM US30/40 Ultrasonic knife cutting systems

.

Spirit AeroSystems, Wichita, KS

2005 - 2013

Composites Development Group – N/C Programming

Composite programmer for the Boeing 737 Next Generation Thrust Reverser and 777 nacelles. Assisted with the 41 section of the 787 Dreamliner.

Created flat pattern geometry and programs for the composite honeycomb core, rolled goods graphite, fiberglass, adhesives, etc. materials.

Created flat pattern geometry and programs for the pinmats for the acoustic panels.

Created programs for the Laser Projection systems for the 737 Thrust Reverser panels

using the LPT laser head system (Optical Layup Template)

Machined Programmed:

American GFM 4 axis ultrasonic knife machine (honeycomb core/acoustic pinmats)

Lectra Drag knife machine (rolled composite material)

LPT Laser Projection system (2 and 3 head system)

Recently started programming an 8 axis Robotic system (FANUC) using the Cenit software system.

Major Accomplishments:

During the period from January to August 2013 was able to save the 737 Next Generation Thrust Reverser business unit 2.4 million dollars (re-spliced composite panels saving raw materials)

During the fiscal year 2010 and 2011 was able to save the 737 Next Generation Thrust Reverser business unit 1.3 million dollars each year. (Re-nest high and low dense core).

While employed with both Spirit AeroSystems and Boeing I was a member of the DBIT (Design, Build, and Integration Team) working closely with Design, Stress, and Project Engineering groups.

Oversaw all layup build processes to insure compliance with all regulations of both the vendor and the FAA.

Note: In 2005 Boeing Commercial Airplane Company sold its Wichita Division to become Spirit AeroSystems.

BOEING COMMERCIAL AIRPLANE COMPANY, Wichita, KS

1994-2005

Performed the same functions at Boeing as I had with Spirit AeroSystems.

Worked with United Engineers in Spokane Washington to develop the 737 Next Generation Blended Winglet program. Provided CATIA manufacturing models including skins, spars, and core materials. The winglet was to be manufactured in Australia.
