Assembly Operations Engineer/Ground Test Engineer

Supported multiple engine builds & teardowns for Pratt & Whitney Engine Programs worldwide. Executed multiple engine mission objectives in fast-paced, dynamic environment where new test & data collection can influence build or teardown assembly process & schedule. Work in teams with multiple disciplines (Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, Sensor Applications Engineering, Instrumentation & Tooling Engineering) in order to satisfy engine key objectives are met for respective customer.

Lead Assembly Engineer for AIRBUS’s 1st Nacelle Integrated Solutions (NIS) Development engine; Heavily instrumented telemetry engine to collect data for Fan Nacelle hardware. Host & attend multiple reviews with Program Disciplines & Module Managers to ensure engine objectives & schedules are being met. Worked & coordinated with a team of approx. 30 people to ensure Engine Product Definition, Instrumentation Installs, & Assembly process instructions all meet engine delivery date provided by customer.

Supported Ground test campaign for NIS engine; Running multiple profiles in different configurations. Worked with Data Systems & Instrumentation team, along with Senior Engineer disciplines to finalize engine profiles for test configuration. Performed borescope, & detailed engine inspections for data collection along with confirming health & safety of engine.

Elected as member of team for 1st Latitudes Cohort Exchange program for PW; Worked as a Project Engineer in Pratt & Whitney Puerto Rico for 6 months supporting “War on cost” for New Engine Operations (Airbus) & IRKUT programs. Create and validate flight test engineering changes through extensive reviews with Program Chiefs & Managers. Changes varied from design drawing updates to swapping out Modules or External hardware to satisfy engine mission objectives.

Validated a Class 1 Engineering Change for IRKUT program; Implemented a design update to an external tube to be used in their production fleet.

Supported High Pressure Compressor Rig build in Munich, Germany (MTU); part of Performance Improvement Package (PIP) program to be used for NEO (Airbus) production fleet. Supported multiple engine programs for Pratt & Whitney customers through Build/Teardown/Testing

Part of MC-21s first flight team in Irkutsk, Russia for IRKUT program. First Flight-test vehicle with Pratt & Whitney engines to take flight in May 2017. Performed borescope & detailed engine inspections in periodic intervals to ensure engine health & safety. Worked with quality inspector, engine mechanics & operators to ensure accurate hardware configuration for test objective at hand.

Lead multiple engines for NEO program – part of AFT Hub retrofit fix. Due to High Pressure Compressor hubs having issues prior to exceeding life limit, multiple engines brought back to PW for hardware fix. Performed additional hardware configuration swaps during rebuild to improve engine performance and meet customer needs.

Supported MRJ Program as a FTE in Moses Lake, WA – Performed multiple inspections on Engines/Aircrafts, and work with flight test telemetry team. Worked at a dynamic work-site where flight test missions where held throughout the day based on weather conditions and mission objectives. Daily meetings to communicate with PW team in East Hartford, CT & West Palm Beach, FL to ensure customer test objectives are being executed & to troubleshoot any flight test issues.
