CCS was everything I have
dreamed it up to be.
Deprogram was an opportunity
like no other. I was selected
to travel to the Netherlands
and learn from Dutch graphic
design and their culture. The
projects placed less focus on
the finished artifact and more
on the critical evolution of
what informs the design.
I have always enjoyed being a
part of extracurricular ac
tivities. These clubs brought
me closer to my peers, as
well as studio professionals.
I enjoy making a fool of
myself and these groups have
the ability to bring out more
and more qualities.
AIGA means a lot to me
because I gained a lot of
friends and great experienc
es. As well as being able to
connect with the chapter in
Detroit.
The trips were a plus too, as
we got to see a lot of stu
dios and get a better view of
the graphic design world out
side of school and Michigan.
These lectures helped me
achieve a better sense of
their design and insight on
what these designers have gone
through in their career.
I like listening to people
talk about their success as a
designer and gain inspiration.

As my first full-time job out
of college I gained more of
a drive to design. I also
found the ability to speak
out more, show my creativi
ty to its full potential as
well as communicate my ideas
with a team.
Not many people can say they
worked for a professional
baseball team. It is definite
ly a conversation starter. I
learned a lot from working at
Comerica Park. I gained more
persistence and courage. To
talk to design professionals
takes a lot of that.
Traveling around the US gave
me the opportunity to connect
with alumni and meet with
studio professionals. This
was a great experience, and
the food was pretty great
too!
Dutch design has a huge
influence on me and the
studios in the Netherlands
displayed unique qualities
that wouldn't normally be
seen in the US. I loved it
there, I even have family
that is from there.
Over the past four years at
CCS I was able to improve on
and receive these skills. The
program promoted a multi-dis
ciplinary practice that
required different skills.
