Susan Angolani
Statement: I have been in the hospitality industry for the last 40 years working in restaurants as a server, manager and owner. It has been a pleasure providing friendly and professional service all these years mainly in California and here in New Mexico. My love for art has also sustained me creating all kinds of painted surfaces, graphic art, websites and menus for numerous eateries.
Employment:
May 2013 – June 2019: Administrative Assistant and co-owner Michael J’s Restaurant with Michael J. We sold this successful business to our Chef who maintains the excellent quality of the food and service we nurtured and developed for six years.
August 2004 – March 2013: Catering assistant to Savories with Bonnie Branson. We served hundreds of happy customers in many venues all over Lincoln, Otero and Chaves Counties. I helped in every aspect of her business from the food prep to clean up after the events. She was a very talented Chef who created fabulous and various cuisines.
January 2008 – August 2012: Treasurer, graphic designer and assistant manager of Lincoln County Art Loop Tour. I sold my photography and paintings for the tour as well as organizing and producing the brochures and other marketing materials.
November 2003 – June 2006: Part-time server for La Lorraine French Restaurant in Ruidoso, NM. I also helped with administrative tasks and bookkeeping for the owner, Kathy Garber.
Previously worked at The Spencer Theatre for the Performing Arts as a server in the Patron’s Dining Room before shows in 2000 when I first moved here from California. I also assisted with food prep when needed. This concludes the highlights of my New Mexico Service Career.
In California I worked in many high-end restaurants as a server and wine advisor. I also co-owned Graziano’s Italian Restaurant in Petaluma, CA in the early 1990s. Other employment included Amedeo of Glen Ellen, Roberto’s Italian Restaurant and the Swiss Hotel, Sonoma, CA.
I began my restaurant career as a co-owner of a small vegetarian food store and eatery named Mahayana as a college student in Northridge, CA. I prepared all the items on our small menu and helped with the store. It was a big success for a short time.
