EMPLOYMENT
Continuous Improvement Coordinator – Zeus Industrial Products September 2015-Present
Implemented various standards for training operators, reducing safety risks, yield improvement, downtime reduction, and scrap reduction.
oStandardized oven temperature profiles across 10 machines which led to a 5% yield improvement for the department. Project resulted in $256k in material cost savings
Implemented stability/accelerated aging procedure to ensure product meets customer’s acceptance criteria prior to shipping and prevent complaints.
Assisted in implementing thorough preventative maintenance procedures that are machine model specific, incorporate manufacturer recommendations, and include labeled visual diagrams/pictures.
Completed continuous improvement projects in both ram and screw plastic extrusion processes.
Established new test methods that quantify physical characteristics of PTFE, Nylon, FEP, PFA, and THV products.
Developed laser velocity test method to measure variation in line speed and completed a variation reduction A3 that reduced line speed fluctuations by more than 60%.
Designed automated plastic reprocessing system to recycle plastic scrap.
Originated 9 innovative A3s improving setup times, yield, rates, efficiencies, scrap rates, late orders, and customer complaints across multiple production departments. Project savings total $658k as verified by Accounting.
Project Engineer – C.R. Bard July 2014-September 2015
Validated and implemented 2D digital micrometer into production for tooling qualification and inspection process.
oUsing Microsoft Excel VBA, this digital gauging process records sample data in real-time for process characterization and serves as an electronic history file for later reference.
Validated and implemented balloon testing equipment to characterize the balloon material properties.
Wrote and lead multiple validations to improve the manufacturing process, maximize yield, increase quality of products, reduce costs, and automate processes.
Qualified new components and suppliers for alternative raw materials.
Associate Scientist - C.R. Bard October 2011-June 2014
Compiled, organized, and analyzed large volumes of data into concise detailed reports for inter-department use to obtain superior product development processes.
Collaborated with Product Development teams and various medical device manufacturing/operations personnel to create efficient development protocols and/or studies.
Performed experiments related to formulation research and formulation optimization.
Facilitated the incorporation of developed manufacturing processes from the laboratory stage to a full scale FDA-regulated production environment.
3 Patents Pending:
oEngineered a new technique for transferring materials from compounding vessels to dipping tanks in order to make the restocking process more efficient.
This will equate to higher yields from less waste and lower overhead through reallocated personnel.
oDesigned a process to increase the durability of a diaphragm pump when transferring latex compounds.
oCollaborated with associates to use various solvents to determine the latex’s sulfur cross-linking density.
