Highlights & Contributions

Directed the construction and start-up of the Middlesex Generating Company consisting of 20 MW (Solar Turbine) Landfill Gas fired 2x1 Combined Cycle Power Generating Facility, resulting in a $18M facility starting safely and on-time.

Oversaw a complete gas turbine overhaul, successfully removed, and replaced combustion section of both Gas Turbines safely, on budget, and ahead of schedule.

Safely managed numerous power plant outages and capital projects

Project Managed a $600K Burner Management System Upgrade (300 MW) which resulted in completing the project 2 weeks ahead of schedule and $60K under-budget.

Successfully completed a $500K – 4000 HP Motor and ID Fan replacement project on-time and on-budget.

Orchestrated, coordinated, and managed, a completed $2M Disaster Recovery Project for the Kansas City High BTU 700 psi Landfill Gas Processing Facility and Pipeline; led root cause investigation, digital control system upgrade, gas compressor upgrade, and numerous additional system process improvements. Due diligence in this role solidified all repairs completed safely, 1 month ahead of schedule, and 15% below budget.

Championed a $580K, 1-mile, LFG gas pipeline installation project that was completed safely and on-budget.

Played a pivotal role as the Technical Leader in closing Energy Investors Fund’s $300M acquisition of Landfill Energy Systems in 2007, KCLG $56M in 2008, and Timberline Energy $30M in 2010.

General Manager 2015–2020

Veolia North America; (Trenton, NJ): Directs oversight of a multifunctional team across program and project management and for 20+ direct reports in multiple departments including: Finance, Operations, Maintenance, Distribution, Sales, Health & Safety, and Environmental, facilitating smooth operations of District Healing and Cooling Systems. Oversees systems that deliver critical steam with 240 MMBtu capacity, 6 MW power generation (Cooper Bessemer engine gen set) and 9.4K ton of chilled water services through a 7-mile underground pipeline distribution system to 30+ high-value clients such as state and city government contracts and officials, hotels, commercial businesses, residential services, and entertainment venues.

Framed the overall budget roadmap, including all associated P&L reporting, annual budgeting and CAPEX tracking, billing and invoicing, income statements, cash flow, forecasting, and balance sheet analysis.

Facility Manager 2014-2015

Sapphire Power Corp. – Bayonne Cogeneration & Elmwood Park Cogeneration; (Bayonne, NJ): In a multifaceted role, served dually as the Executive Leader & Advisor in management of 2 Cogeneration facilities with 244 Net MW of total installed capacity, 11 direct reports, and all associated project oversight.

Key Contributions & Accomplishments:

Served as a principal project lead focused on annual budget development, BVR tracking, Fuel Hedge management, daily market nominations and offers, forecasting and planning of all major maintenance and capital projects.

Developed and executed numerous cost-effective and innovative process improvements, including strategic and business planning initiatives that ensured that all projects were delivered on-time, within budget, and according to all client requirements.

Bayonne Cogeneration (180 MW 3x1): For this project, assisted in (3) GE Frame 6 B Gas Turbines, managing (2) hot gas path outages, (1) major gas turbine outage, (1) GE 60 MW Steam turbine, (3) Vogt HRSGs (HP, LP, IP), 3x1 configuration, and (4) Auxiliary Boilers that provide 125Klb/hr steam to the client.

oManaged $26M capacity and real-time generating revenues in the PJM market; $7M O&M budget management, forecasting, and capital projects; $3M in major maintenance and project management facility wide.

Elmwood Park Cogeneration (74 MW 1x1): Led (1) ABB/Alstom 55 MW GTC8 Gas Turbine, (1) Nooter Erikson HRSG (HP-LP), (1) 24 MW ABB Steam Turbine Generator, and 1x1 configuration.

oMitigated, evaluated, and managed a major combustor outage. o Managed $8M of capacity and real-time generating revenues across the PJM market; $4M in O&M budget management, forecasting, and capital projects; $1M major maintenance and project oversight facility wide.

Drastically improved overall availability, capacity factor, and EFOR-D numbers across both facilities by implementing innovative process improvements and throughout data analytics.

Significantly improved employee working conditions, increased safety awareness, boosted productivity, and reduced overtime/labor costs.

Operations Manager 2013–2014

Veolia Energy (SourceOne); (New York, NY)

Functioned as the Operations Manager, directing oversight of asset generation for Gas Turbine Combined Heat & Power at the Bank of America Tower, a project for 5 MW Solar & 800 Trane Ton Absorber/Chiller. Key Contributions & Accomplishments:

Project Managed a Coal-fired Foster Wheeler CFB Boiler design, providing steam and power to the University of Minnesota Combined Heat & Power Facility.

Ensured proper transition of all Foster Wheeler employees and assets into the corporate portfolio, during an acquisition.

Led efforts as the Site Safety Manager for multiple projects and high-profile clients such as the Metro North Railroad, Grand Central Terminal, and Energy Improvement Projects (such as drive chillers, new steam piping, and cooling towers), working in partnership with the New York Power Authority (NYPA).

Outage Manager 2012–2013

NRG Energy – Arthur Kill Generating Station; (Staten Island, NY)

Directed oversight in the successful management, coordination/scheduling, planning, and supervision of all Plant Auxiliaries and Steam/Gas

Turbine outages for the 875 MW facility consisting of (1) MW GE Cross Compound, Closed Coupled, Double Flow, H2 Cooled Steam Turbine; (1) 518 MW GE Tandem Compound, 4 Flow, H2 Cooled Steam Turbine; (1) 15 MW GE Frame 5 Gas Turbine in a Simple Cycle configuration. Key Contributions & Accomplishments:

Developed and administered bid packages, reviewed contractor proposals, and contractor qualifications, partnering effectively with Engineering Department on plant upgrades and improvement projects.

Routinely offered advice and guidance as the Operations Supervisor, supporting plant operations, and reviewing contractor QA/QC procedures, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Orchestrated streamlined progression in the 150 MW GE rotor rewind, boiler tube repairs, steam turbine control valves, stop valves, reheat, and intercept valve rebuild project. Due diligence in this role resulted in a $7M outage completed in 3 weeks ahead of schedule and nearly $400K under-budget.

General Manager/Operations – LFG Gas Pipeline Assets (DE, OK, KS, NB) 2006–2012

Enpower Operations Corp.; (Oklahoma City, OK)

Served as the Director for all Gas Processing and Pipeline Business Unit, Operating Facilities, and Development Projects such as: Air Liquid Membrane Process, High BTU Selexol Process, and Medium BTU, managing 3 direct reports and 15 dotted line reports. Oversaw all P&L for gas nomination & fuel hedge management decisions, DOT Natural Gas Pipeline compliance, project oversight, merger/acquisition transitions, contract agreements and negotiations, client relations, and offered complete oversight of all managers and employees region-wide.

Liaised effectively with facility management teams to develop and implement process improvements in safety, performance/KPIs, cost control, staff production, and overall workforce management.

Directed numerous HAZOP reviews and facility performance evaluations, including safety compliance and adherence.

Managed the entire budget process, including preparation, analysis, and distribution of a $9M combined budget; supervised estimates, cast flow projections, improvement projects, and overall forecasting.
