2013 to Present • MONTEFIORE ST. LUKE’S CORNWALL (MSLC) • Newburgh, NY Nonprofit hospital with 2,500 employees serving the Hudson Valley. Part of 11-location Montefiore Health System. Vice President – Administrative Services (2017 to Present) Lead multiple functions for 392-bed hospital, including compliance, contracts, government affairs, human resources, information technology, occupational health & safety, community development and risk management. Manage 5 direct reports, 100-member team, $48MM hospital budget and $80MM system-wide salary budget. Serve on Strategy and Compensation Board Committees, providing administrative expertise and leadership for key initiatives.

• Drove significant culture change, implementing accountability, creating Diversity & Inclusion Committee, increasing engagement from 4% to 91%, leading hospital to achieve “Great Place to Work” status for 4 years and influencing system to be named #25 on Fortune’s “Top 40 Best Places to Work in Healthcare”. Subsequently, patient experience scores increased and organization achieved first profitability in a decade in 2019.

• Elevated talent acquisition capabilities, decreasing time-to-fill from 90 to 30 days, reducing vacancy rate from 9% to less than 3% and improving hospital’s reputation and employer branding.

• Introduced new technology that automated processes and increased efficiency across organization, achieving “Most Wired” recognition.

• Devised innovative solutions to employee challenges. Helped team members pay down student debt through unique program that allows them to trade in paid time off in exchange for payment toward loans. Hospital paid out $90k within first year and recognized increased ability to attract and retain premier talent. • Designed and implemented new programs and approaches, including new Compensation program, proactive Labor Relations approach, impactful Employee Engagement plan and full cycle Talent Management plan. Reduced grievance activity by 46% and improved engagement scores by 63%.

• Identified need for Victim Programs to aid staff in dealing with traumatic events occurring at work and within Newburgh (one of the most dangerous places to live). Partnered with Employee Assistance Provider to create programs and reduce burnout.

• Served as Chief Negotiator for 6 collective bargaining agreements and successfully negotiated terms.

• Led HR functions of M&A activities, including closing business units, merging health systems and due diligence on Montefiore System’s RFP. Partnered with CEO to develop employee communications and optimize integration processes. Initially, oversaw all HR, labor relations, payroll, benefits, recruiting and organizational development activities for 2-unit nuclear power plant that supplied New York City power. Following business transformation, guided and supported $1.7 billion Indian Point Energy Division’s leadership team as their HR Business Partner. Managed up to 4 direct reports and budgets up to $5MM while driving operational excellence and business value.

• Drove significant turnaround of company power plant, advancing rank from #50 to #8 of 100 power plants on tri-annual inspection. Recognized with CEO Award for transformation and held up as model for best practices.

• Navigated and repaired complex dynamics between union and management. Negotiated final language for 2 collective bargaining agreements that were unresolved for 1+ year.
