Education

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, minor in Mathematics, The University of Tulsa (TU), Tulsa, OK, Aug 2020

Internship: Drilling Fluids and Mud Engineer with MB Petroleum Services, conducting extensive testing to support well operations and quality control, created fluids for drilling complex geology with high HI2S content and extreme temperatures.

Key Projects

Dicyclopentadiene Recovery from By-Product of Naphtha Steam-Cracking: Manage project of Steam cracking of naphtha to produce ethylene and propylene (one of the largest, most important industrial processes in the world). By-product of this process is a stream containing a mixture of heavy paraffins, olefins, diolefins, and aromatic compounds. Considered recovery of a component from this by-product for use as a feedstock to another process. Maximized the economic production of high purity dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) from a 55,000 lb/hr naphtha cracking by-product.

Styrene from Toluene and Methanol: Produced styrene from toluene and methanol in one step. Created some byproduct ethylbenzene to sell to conventional styrene producers. Developed a new, low cost route to styrene. Synthesized a flowsheet and prepared a preliminary design and economic evaluation for a new process to produce styrene from toluene and methanol.

Design Project Legacy Ammonia Handling Options (Group leader): Determined a viable option of disposing of ammonia based on three different effluent handling systems. Compared net present worth cost and environmental concerns of each of the systems. Analyzed effluent handling systems, such as flare system, water catch tanks and scrubber systems. Analyzed design for each system was based on equipment sizing, utilities costs, economic analysis, and the materials of construction. Concluded that the system with the viable option will be the catch tank system.

Legacy Ammonia Handling: Performed preliminary design and economic analysis for project to destroy or capture ammonia prior to atmospheric release, evaluated all alternatives including operational capability and potential product recovery to determine most viable option.

Filtration of Water Treatment: Coordinated with industry leaders including Coca Cola, Bakhresa Food Products, and Nabaki Afrika to investigate filtration with chemicals, developed detailed reports to provide management with necessary updates.
