Program Officer (Bangladesh Office) 9/2013 to 9/2017 Solidarity Center (AFL-CIO), Washington, DC
Directed a team of 8 field coordinators to accomplish target of generating awareness for 800 aspiring migrants annually. Submitted program grants to DC Head Office for distribution to government agencies. Evaluated and reported periodically on project progress, budgeting, and expenses through maintenance of online database to track performance. Initiated and established positive relationships with stakeholders, policymakers, donors, and members of the community to facilitate awareness and advocacy. Led planning of program events, including meetings, seminars, workshops, training sessions, and conferences. Acted as interpreter and liaison between English-speaking Director and Bengali-speaking officials/organizations.
• Successfully proposed and obtained grants of $200k and $500k from USAID for long-term strategic human rights and anti-trafficking initiatives in Bangladesh.
• Expanded number of partner organizations from 2 to 7 within 4-year span.

Conducted research for Master’s Thesis through review and study of academic texts, data collection via survey, and data assimilation/cleansing. Trained a team of 5 enumerators to perform surveys and collect necessary data for research analysis.
• Awarded $7500 grant from RAC after proposal (co-written with advisor) was selected; funds covered research and survey expenses.
