Information technology technician who handled all facets of software installation, configuration of equipment and help desk support, with a focus in telecommunications and general networking. Telecommunication experience includes working with Lucent / Avaya Definity Switch, Merlin Legend and Magix Switch. Highly responsibly individual with initiative to learn and ability to apply gained knowledge to solve business solutions in the technology arena.

Responsible for assisting in the support of the bank's Data Center, networks, systems, voice and data communications and other ancillary business applications. Maintained the bank's telecommunication environments, ensuring connectivity to the bank's primary application, Bisys, and telecommunications availability including the WAN and LAN connectivity to 41 remote branch locations.

Job summary:

Telecommunications Technician Responsibilities (more detailed information):

• Maintain 400 internal telephone extensions, over 700 pots lines within the Bank's 41 branch infrastructure, 165 ISDN circuits, over 50 frame relay circuits, over 6 T-1 circuits, and over 60 ADT alarm lines.

• Create cover paths, intercom groups, pickup groups, bridge appearances, hunt groups, speed dialing, route patterns, vectoring, call center.

• Establish a mechanism for reporting call cost accounting to senior management.

• Install, test, modify, repair, maintain, and provide daily support to end users with new or existing telephones on the Merlin Legend, Merlin Magix and Definity G3 Switches.

• Maintain cabling and wiring infrastructure, which includes the punching down of data and voice lines, toning out, and assigning ports and creating jacks for both voice and data lines.

• Troubleshoot system errors, alarms, static, cross talk on lines and no dial tone.

• Keep documentation and records to ensure an accurate inventory of telecommunications equipment including serial numbers, phone model numbers, circuit equipment locations at the corporate office and branch locations; telephone number listings and various circuit ID's, VOIP codes, access numbers and speed dial numbers.

• Create voice mail accounts on Defnity Audix System, for subscribers in the back office as well as in all 41 branches.

• Assisted with the installation of VoIP infrastructure, which entailed the creation of the internal numbering schema, branch to branch connectivity, and off premise voice mail accounts.

• Meet with various vendors to assess system capabilities in correlation to the Bank's needs for telephone equipment and telecommunication issues.

PC Technician Responsibilities:

• Assist with the setup and configuration of desktop computer equipment.

• Maintain user accounts and passwords for over 800 users.

• Install operating systems and establish network connectivity for PC and server equipment.
