NLC India Limited (Formerly NEYVALI LIGNITE CORPORATION), (Navaratna company under Ministry of Coal Govt. of India), As a GM /HEAD HR, of Power & Mines looking after HR/IR/ADMIN./CSR/SUPERVISION OF CISF SECURITY/ADMINISTRATION activities 20 million Tons open cast Coal mine and 800x3 MW project Thermal Power plant .

COMMON ACTIVITIES IN GENEARAL

To see the HR processes such as Manpower Planning,Recruitment, compensation and benefits, Performance Management, Training, Employee Recognition Practices, Employee Care Policies, People participative, Employee Satisfaction Survey, Implementation of Succession Planning, Promotion Policy, and Talent Management Participation in LTA with Trade unions. Management initiatives such as Continuous improvement i.e Quality improvement Implementation culture through employee participation, like QC, functioning of various committee at the plant level & implementation of Management systems I .e EMS, QMS.

Recruitment Process

Create & implement recruitment plan for plant according to manpower planning in order to ensure in time also.

Interact with departmental head for creating job descriptions of different position based on their requirement.

To bring consistency in recruitment process and evaluation method policy/guideline.

Ensure cost effective recruitment of candidates within stipulated time

Managing and responsible for Recruitment process and selection process of quality People. Salary negotiations and Reference check.

Head hunting, incumbent search, Using job portals, Liaison with placement agencies

To conducts campus Recruitment for selection of, Technicians, DET, GET, GT from various engineering and Management s colleges/Institutions.

Maintaining a databank for the Organization utilizing the same as and when required.

Compensation and Benefit management

Experience of compensation restructuring, variable pay and formulating incentive schemes.

Implement all salary reviews post appraisal.

Liaison with SAP team regarding payroll process in timely and accurate payroll processing..

Performance management system

Initiate annual performance review as per corporate guidelines in time..

Co-ordinate with Div.. heads in the process of setting up KRA& JD of the employees

Ensure timely issue of transfers, PRP, Probation confirmations, HRS reports, promotions, Increments, performance Incentive, Retention Bonus etc

Training and development

Facilitating training & development programs in all departments by understanding the unique training needs & ensuring a proper program to fulfil it.

Identify individual and organizational training needs and skill and competency gaps and design and implement an effective training and development plan in line with plant objectives

Liaison with corporate learning team for identifying suitable training & development opportunities for site employees.

Formulate annual training calendar and ensure enhancement of required skills at all levels.

Organizing and conducting induction training sessions for all new joining employees.

Maintaining Factory & Mines Discipline & Statutory Compliances

Regular visits to departments to understand HR related issues and Grievances.

Handle the plant disciplinary matters and settlement of day to day IR issues

Handling trade unions relation, collective wage and Bonus agreements.

Statutory compliance under various labour laws & attending conciliation proceedings.

Handling negotiations and settlement of day-to-day operational grievances and IR issue.

Effectively managing welfare measures to enhance motivation levels and productivity.

Ensure timely compliance to various statutory and industrial legislations like P.F., E.S.I, Bonus, Gratuity, Contract Labour Act, Apprentice Act M.W, Act Payment of Wages etc.

Ensure effective functioning of Industrial canteen. Supervision of canteen food regularly.

Succession Planning Management-

Ensure Career development of employees and Succession Planning at all levels/all division by given appropriate training for making them for future requirement of the organization and also to proactively ensure development of second line leaders in all departments of the plant.

Liaisoningand Interfacing with statutory authorities and Dist.Admin.

Over all co-ordination between the organization and various authorities, such as local police, fire, forest,labour department, Public relations, with Collector, S.P, SDM, Labour Secretary, Labour Commissioner,DCAC,ALC, LEO,RPFC,PF Enforcement officer,ESI officials etc regularly..

CSR & R.R Activities

Effectively handle the PAP employee’s recruitment and trained them in different technical trade based on their qualifications and to ensure to upgrade their skills. To look after with all matters related to Rehabilitation and Resettlement of project displaced people in line with Govt. RR policy and also to ensure shifting of villagers to the R.R. colonies those have lost their home & Land for set up of plant. Responsible of CSR activities of project affected villages surrounding to unit areas as per management guide lines and also Dist. Administration.

For PAP skill Development,supervision the day to activities of ITI, Polytechnic established by the plant.

General Administrative

Look after the day today administrative activities, i.e., housekeeping, running of educational/Technical Institutions, hospitals (OHC), Guest Houses, Field Hostel, and Vehicle Management, running of exe. Mess, canteen, Guest House, Recreation Club, Office Stationary, Residential Leases & Township Administration etc.
