Photonics Industries International Inc. NOV ’06 – FEB ‘09

Product Manager DM Series (AUG ’07 – FEB ‘09)

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of a $4.3M product line, overseeing a group of six scientists, engineers and technicians responsible for all phases of research, design and production.

•Audited existing processes, identified critical gaps and designed new corrective procedures. Authored new work procedures and trained staff for improved productivity and safety.

•Implemented Quality improvement program including spot audits, root-cause analysis, and implementation of remedial actions.

•Handled customer complaints including physically visiting customer plants and collaborating with production engineers to identify and solve issues. Demonstrated exemplary customer service strengths in oral and written communications.

•Facilitated numerous Root Cause Failure Analysis Investigations in regard to product and/or system failures.

•Produced short/long term production scheduling, forecasting, monthly analysis, and cost forecasting.

Key Accomplishments:

•Solved significant design flaws in the cooling systems that were resulting in customer complaints and product failures.

•Streamlined production procedures to reduce costs and increase production by 23%.

•Performed numerous domestic and international on-site visits for Demonstration, Integration and Customer Training. When needed provided on-site field service and repair to reduce “down-time” and restore customer confidence resulting in nearly a 30% increase in DM sales over 18 months.

Sr. Laser Engineer R&D (NOV ’06 – AUG ‘07)

R&D Group member responsibilities included new product development and product improvement initiatives for existing product(s) line. Experienced in taking products from concept to production.

New product developments include:

•200 Watt and 400 Watt IR systems for industrial applications.

•80, 150, and 200 Watt green systems for pumping of Ti:Sapphire & Dye Lasers

Technical Experience:

•Diode-pumped solid state lasers including Nd: YVO4, YAG, YLF, and Ti: Sapphire laser mediums.

•Second, third, and forth-harmonic generation, SLM and Narrow Linewidth.

•Continuous Wave, Q-switched, Pockels cell, and SESAM mode locked laser.
