As an English tutor, I did one-on-one face-to-face tutorials for English learners on the four English language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as on vocabulary and grammar.

While Ms. Celine Borromeo of the UP Diliman Career Guidance Counseling had a seminar to attend, I took her place as preschool teacher while she was away. The children’s ages were from 4-5 years old. In preschool we learn the very basics of reading, writing and arithmetic. My role is to supervise them so that their lessons were reinforced properly by giving them extra practice, drills and exercises while doing it in a fun way. I also have to manage their time while in school. For example, we have 15 minutes of formal lessons then a break of 3 minutes for playtime and then let them go back to their formal lessons again including the time for their recess for the day. Another job is to oversee school activities such as theatre and music presentations. We also had field trip activities to places of interests like parks and museums.
