BACHELOR OF SCIENCE UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ANTICIPATED GRADUATION 2020

• Major: Biomedical Engineering GPA: 3.4

• Related coursework: Applied Medical and Engineering Biology, Molecular and Cellular Labs, Biomaterials and Mechanics, Principle of Medical Imaging, Biosignal Labs, Machine Learning (AI) Skills & Abilities

• Computer: MATLAB Programing, Python, Maple, Solid Works, BioPac Pro, BioPac Lessons, Arduino, MS Office Suites, Windows OS, Linus OS, Macintosh OS

• Languages: Chinese/Fuzhounese (Conversational), Spanish (Beginner), English (Fluent) COMMUNICATION

• Team Member of an Experimental Project: Organized and communicated with other individuals to construct, run and analyze our own experiment. This process included light supervision by a supervising professor but most of the work was left to the group members discretion. Took the role of group secretary, where I wrote down notes, assignments and deadlines. LEADERSHIP

• Team Leader of a Design Group: Tasked with the design of a biomedical instrument to deal Parkinson’s Diseases, in particular to limit the effects of micrographia (shaking of hands). Delegated work to team members, researched topics of interest and made sure deadlines were maintained. Experience

BIOMEDICAL INSTRUMENT DESIGN UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO AUGUST 2018 – DECEMBER 2018

• Tasked with the design of a biomedical instrument to deal with Parkinson’s Disease, we design the concept of a device that would counteract micrographia. The premise behind this device was to simulate the hand via electrical activity, which will stop the hands from tensing up and helping the patient write in their everyday lives. We created a prototype model and research Parkinson’s in depth. At the end of the project, a presentation was given to show off the prototype and the theory behind the model. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN PROJECT UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO JANUARY 2019 – MAY 2019

• Tasked with the creation of our own experiment using real test subjects, we used Biopac Lessons and Pro to gather and analyze data. The experiment consisted of using ECG and Eye Tracking Software to determine whether a test subject was lying or not. There was limited supervision from a professor and most of the creation of the experiment was left to the group. After experiment and analysis, a presentation was given at the end to discuss results. BIOMEDICAL DESIGN PROJECT VASANTHA KUMAR MD AUGUST 2019

• Tasked with the creation and development of a portable combination senor (Heart Rate and Respiratory Rate) and accompanying mobile phone application to monitor infant sleep apnea. As part of a team, we were designed and created a heart and respiratory rate sensor from scratch to monitor sleep apnea. If there was an abnormality in data collected, the mobile app would give off an alert to the nurses/doctor.
