Presently working with QATAR STEEL, which is
one of the biggest & the oldest plant in GULF
REGION since OCT’ 2007 till now.
I have been involved with plant start ups and
commissioning of Electric Arc Furnace
Working as a SHIFT INCHARGE in A.C.ELECTRIC
ARC FURNACE, Which is DANIELI FURNACE.
Only low Carbon grades are made through
melting of Cold DRI, HBI & SCRAP.
Responsible for the higher productivity in the
least time.
TO co-ordinate activities like EBT change, Delta change, Cold repair, major repair etc.
F/C hearth making is being done by automatic
ROBOT machine.
To co-ordinate with Ladle furnace, Caster,
Material handling etc.
Responsible for 5 S activities, Safety, HIRA,
OHSAS, PTW and M.M.I.
ACHIEVEMENTS (Qatar Steel) :
Tap to tap reduce from52 min to 43 min including repair.
Achieved highest refractory wall life (1342)
Achieved highest refractory wall life without partial repair (1048)
Increased production from 18 heats to 35 heats in a day.
Installing non contact temperature (Refined combined Burner – RCB) Successfully.
Installing Automatic ROBOT machine successfully, which is used for Gunning and Fettling.
EXPERIENCE:
Worked with ESSAR STEEL LTD. (HAZIRA), which is one of the biggest fully automated steel plants, which is producing above 6 million tons of liquid steel per annum.
Worked as a Senior Engineer from MAY 1996 to SEPT 2007 in MELT SHOP.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
I have been involved with commissioning of DC electric arc furnace
(Danieli steel mill suppliers).
To organize crane for Hot DRI charging, Basket charging, Electrodes handling, material shifting etc.
Tap to tap time to be co-ordinate with LF, scrap yard & Co-ordination cell. Only Low Carbon grades are made through melting of HOT DRI,HBI AND SCRAP.
To produce various type of grades like GEN, LNP, SIL, EDD, IFS, TRN, CRM & others.
To ensure heats are made as per process standards
Furnace hearth making to be done if required
Full control on furnace operation & cost control.
Responsible for production & emergency breakdown in shift
To co-ordinate shutdown activities like bottom electrode change, cold repair and hot repair.
To achieve higher Yield, control of Slag FeO, to reduce KWh, working safely are the main factors.
To make good Housekeeping.
ACHIEVEMENTS (Essar Steel)
Tap to time reduced from 49 min to 42 min including repair
Commissioning of Hot DRI VESSEL, 35 vessels charged in a shift.
Increased refractory life from 200 to 550 heats (without partial repair)
Increased bottom electrode life from 850 to 1280 life
Achieved highest no of heats tapped in a shift from 4 furnaces AREAS OF EXPERTISE :
PRODUCTION PLANNING AND CONTROL :
Planning steel melt shop production schedule & work allocation for achieving monthly targets by optimum of available resources.
To increase production targets with ISO standards
All safety parameters have been concluded
MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS :
Managing preventive and predictive maintenance of steel melt shop equipments activities on weekly and monthly shutdown.
Troubleshooting reasons for major breakdowns and ensuring all the machines are working well by conducting timely checks. Skill Set:
