Project Highlights

Multi-operational Tool Machine Design and Fabrication

Designed an electrically handled multi-functioning machine, modelled in Solidworks, CAD & construction using machines such as the CNC.

Conducted various operations during the manufacturing of a product and fabricated the device so that operations such as Drilling, Grinding, Slotting and Milling could be carried out on a single machine without the need of shifting work to another machine or station.

Reduced the time consumption by 27% and eliminated non-essential manpower. Screw Conveyor Belt Design-For-Manufacturing

Designed a conveyor for Martin Sprocket and Gear Inc to reduce manufacturing cost and thereby improving its quality and performance.

The Screw and trough designs were designed using Solidworks & the assembly was analyzed using DFM/DFA methods for mechanical stresses, Shock resistance tests and environmental behavior.

The efficiency of the conveyor belt was improved by 18% and was made cost effective. The Retaining Ring & The Compressor Reed Valve Analysis

Finite Element analysis of a retaining ring that must open by a certain distance (in mm) measured by the change in distance between the holes by using a suitable material with a high yield stress. The retaining ring was successfully designed by using the ABAQUS CAE software. Wheel Rim Pattern (Investment Casting) Additive Manufacturing

Designed and 3D printed a wheel rim pattern using AM technology to eliminate the need for construction of the mold signifying the cost cutting for the product and enhancing a variant hand over the complex geometry.

The wheel Rim pattern was drafted using Solidworks, analyzed using Solid Thinking Inspire software, ABS thermoplastic was used for rafting and the model was 3D printed on a PolyJet printer using Simply3D. Education
