RESPONSIBILITIES:-

Inspects received materials for compliance to purchase orders and reviews material Inspection reports (MIRs) and mill certificates to ensure they match the markings on the materials & compliance with drawing specifications.

Responsible for the inspection before, during and after welding.

Performs dimensional checks on completed welds and ensure compliance with approved drawings..

Performs welding inspection activities and coordinates with other client inspectors, subcontractors & NDE technicians.

Performs visual inspection of completed pipe weld for compliance to the relevant construction code, WPS procedure requirements.

Requests the necessary non-destructive examination (NDE) and destructive testing work.

Ensure that work is being carried-out as per Approved Project Quality Plan, QCP/ITP, Welding Book (Weld Map & WPS/PQR), Procedures and Project Specifications.

Witnessing of welder Qualification test in association with the Client representative and welding engineer.

During welding preheat & Inter-pass temperature checking, After welding 100% Visual Inspection.

Check and Record welding parameters and verifying compliance with approved WPS.

Verifying calibration status of measuring device, test equipment, welding machines etc.

Checking and clearing the punch list items for hydro test.

Preparation of hydro test packages.

Witnesses activities (welding, pressure/hydro testing etc.), completes reports and reviews documentation as required and signs off on documents and ITP line items, as they are completed.

Writes up subcontractor non-conformance reports (NCR’s) as required and assist with determining root cause of errors and completing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA’s) for client NCRs.

Works in coordination with Sr. QA/QC Engineer/QC Engineer, within established procedures and practices.

Reviews NDE reports for completeness, accuracy and acceptance in accordance with the requirements of the project.

Reviews welder performance qualification records and ensure welders are qualified for the work being performed on a per job basis.

Obtains and reviews certifications of NDE technicians to ensure they are appropriately certified for the work they are performing.

Ensure that the branches or any other fittings are provided as per the approved drawing and they are at required elevation, orientation &exact co-ordinate.

Liaise with NDT/Welding/Mechanical team and Customer to ensure that Quality problems are addressed and technically resolved.

Monitor welder’s performance, Identify root cause of repair/defects and provide solution/guidance to eliminate it.

Implementation of quality control measures to reduce rejections rate and minimize customer complaints.

Liaise with the company representative to conduct of day-to-day quality related activities.

Ensure fulfilment of all test requirements at all stages as per PQP and contract requirements.

Implement and maintain quality management system within department.

Reporting the performance of the quality system to the management.

Participates weekly and/or monthly safety meetings and ensure maximum safety within designate work areas.
