Work Experience
Research Assistant Fall 2018-May 2019
Name: David Lamson (Senior Scientist)
Department: BRITE
University: North Carolina Central University
Area of Research: Triple Negative Breast Cancer
Description: Proliferation Assay used to examine the viability of cells and measures the number of cells. Two dyes were used to perform this assay. 1). Hochest 2). YOYO-1. Also, used two drugs for comparison: 1). GENT61 and 2). JK184. After splitting cells and 24hrs of incubation, cells treated with 1:10 dilutions of using drugs. And count the fluorescence. Result indicated that GENT61 is inhibiting more cancer cells then JK184.
Prepared Media, Plating and feeding cells, Cell viability count, Analyzed data.
Develop skills on instruments such as Biomek NX, Cellinsight NXT, HP D300, Multidrop (384 well plate), Micro pipetting, aseptic techniques, Sterilization techniques.
Learned troubleshooting laboratory instruments.
Developed skills on Accuracy, attention to detail, Analytical skill, troubleshooting, Planning, and scheduling, Data Collection skills.
