URS, MANITOBA CANADA 6/2014 to 12/2014
Project Director
A remote underground room and pillar mine just northwest of Winnipeg Manitoba that had some structural and safety issues underneath a lake. Our task was to design and engineer the underground mine to make it safe in order to mine out the remaining ore. Started working on the design and constructability reviews in Vancouver in June with a 3rd party consultant to finalize the design. After working through the constructability reviews I became the Project Director for this project on site. The construction began around the end of September. My duties entailed:
Includes developing client relationships, strategic planning, management and staffing plans, and overall management of the project
Develop a raise bore hole 300 feet from surface to the underground.
Develop an onsite quarry that will be used for the backfill portion of the underground workings
To install over 8000 bolts throughout the mine
Hiring of project personnel and subcontractors to get the scope of work completed
Did most of the design on the Ventilation requirements and the construction of the Fans and plenums
Lead the team on all Electrical requirements and infrastructure needed.
