MEP Operations Lead 2018 – to present

Reporting to the Regional Director and leading a team of 25 Managers/Engineers (plus 1500 sub-contractors), responsible for overseeing the Main Contractor MEP Package, including Facilities Management of occupied Hotel, Residential and Commercial Buildings during the Defect Liability Period on a prestigious 3.6 Billion QAR project. The Project comprises of a 5 Star Hotel, Shopping Centre, Commercial Buildings, Residential Buildings, Retail Areas and Multi Storey Basement Car Park Areas.

Key Responsibilities – Team Management:

All aspects of recruitment, promotion, appraisals, disciplinary issues and manpower allocation.

Ensuring direct reports have clarity about their roles and responsibilities.

Providing leadership, oversight and guidance to the Maintenance, Engineering and Sub Contractor Teams.

Establishing quantifiable and observable performance objectives for direct reports or team members.

Evaluating performance against established performance expectations (KPI).

Chairing Daily Maintenance, WAR and T&C Meetings with all Project Stakeholders

Coordinating and liaising with consultants, suppliers and sub-contractors to deliver objectives on time.

Assisting Commercial Director with contract negotiation, claim management and agreeing final accounts.

Management of Commissioning Management Contractor and 3rd Party Witnessing Contractor.

Monitoring the progress of all Service Providers and System Specialists to ensure all Safety, Quality and Delivery standards are maintained to a high standard, identifying Opportunities for Improvement.

Advising Commercial Director on Technical aspects in tender processes and contractor appointment.

Oversee compilation of technical submittals, drawings, asset registers and handover documentation.

Reviewing operation and maintenance documentation submitted by contractors.

Overseeing the FM/DLP Helpdesk, PPM/Reactive Maintenance and Defect Rectification process.

Project MEP Lead for a 3.6 Billion QAR Phase on one of the largest and most prestigious projects in Qatar – Msheireb Downtown Doha Project.

Responsible for the execution, commissioning, handover and maintenance of all MEP works.

Mobilized by Group Management to bring the MEP Element of the Phase back in line and oversee handover.

Reporting to the Managing Director, leading a team of 40 (plus 200 sub-contractors), responsible for overseeing Unger Steel General Contracting Major Turnkey Projects within the region. The role is two-fold:

Managed the MEP T&C delivery of Dubai Tram, Al Ain Stadium, Mall of the Emirates and Novotel Projects.
