Duties and responsibilities:

Attended and responded in a respiratory intensive care unit during on COVID – 19 pandemic.

Performs respiratory care procedures as per established policy and procedures, if required under the direction of a senior respiratory therapist, doctor, or nurse.

Assumes responsibility for operating autonomously, utilizing critical thinking skills and monitors patient responses and modifies therapies based on clinical/physiologic assessments and in consultation with physicians. Reads and evaluates physicians' orders. Applies mechanical ventilator support of patients and monitors patient's response and provide respiratory care for all types of patients on life support especially in intensive – care units and other sub – special areas in the hospital.

Assists the physician and code team in cardiopulmonary arrest situations as requested for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients and participates in an inter-hospital and other hospital transports mainly in the Critical Care Unit.

Provides advanced emergency airway care according to approved protocol.

Assists in standard proning position of mechanically ventilated patients on a regular basis, depending on the doctor’s order.
