Scope of Work
• Splices overhead, underground or submarine multi-conductor cable used
in electric power transmission system. Cuts sheath from installed cable
or gain access to cable connections preparatory to splicing. Test (Traces
or Phase out) each conductor
to identify corresponding conductors in adjoining cable sections,
according to electrical diagrams and specifications to prevent
incorrect connections between individual power circuits using test
lamp or bell system.
• Clean tins and splices corresponding conductor by twisting ends
together and soldering each connection
• Covers conductors with insulating or fireproofing materials. Fits lead
sleeve around cable joining and wipes molten lead into joints
between sleeve and cable sheath to produce moisture-proof joints.
• Fills completed sleeve with insulating oil can splice and repair 15KV
or high voltage oil filled and XLPE cables.
• Performs emergency services to stop oil leaks from damage oil filled
cables.
• Completes all work in accordance with safety rules, electrical codes
and other regulations. Responsible for safe custody and proper usage
of tools and safety equipment.
• Handles cable splicing tools, equipment and accessories like High Pot
