WORK EXPERIENCE

08/2010 - 09/2020 Food Control Officer, Mesaieed Industrial City, Qatar Petroleum

Law Enforcement Authority (Law Enforcement Officer) in MIC to approve, seize, reject, fine, and close down food establishments in cases of non-compliance to Qatar state regulations. Take enforcement actions as the situation warrants by giving Notices, fines, seizing or destroying unfit food.

Perform inspection audits for all city food establishments as per HACCP, ISO 22000 and Qatar food standards.

Liaise with Police and other authorities, as necessary, in the performance of above duties and execution of enforcement action. Have Legal Arrest authority as “Law Enforcement Officer” as per decision No. 25 of Year 2012 issued by Attorney General of State of Qatar.

Ensure that the required equipment and the prescribed physical/structural facilities are in place, properly maintained, and hygienic according to Qatar Laws and regulations. Ensure that food handlers have health certificates and have good personal hygiene.

Routine inspections of Catering Units ( Including Amwaj, Shaqab Abela, IFS, Teyseer, Newrest DAMAC, QCC, PDC (Tmaween) etc),shops, commercial kitchens, Dining halls, Restaurants cafeterias and markets and apply Qatar laws regarding food and food establishments. Observe a "risk-based strategy" for inspections and follow up

Take routine Food samples for State Laboratory analysis. Take urgent samples when necessary due to alerts by medical authorities (Ministry of Health, Supreme Council, MMUP) or when a consumer registers a complaint. Use approved sampling techniques.

Investigate food borne illnesses and complaints systematically and sequentially and follow up to proper conclusion.

Promote standards such as HACCP, ISO 22000 etc., Rules and regulations regarding food safety; educate food handlers; and actively participate in food hygiene awareness programs and alerts within the Mesaieed industrial city.

Designed and developed training for food hygiene and safety.

Authority to issue New Trade Lic., Renewal of Lic. Permit to operate etc. for all food and related establishments in Mesaieed Industrial City.

Review and approve the layout/floor plan of canteens, Kitchens, Dining halls, Restaurants, Cafeterias poultry and other food establishments when new or renewed permits are sought, as well as review and approve food-transporting vehicle permits according to the required standards for transporting meat, poultry and fish either chilled, cooked, or frozen.

Prepare reports of violations observed and recommendations made for corrective actions. Submit reports to the Supervisor daily and monthly. Maintain proper record keeping with proof.
