• Responsible for assisting the Business Development and Special Projects Conflicts Team Supervisor with Request for Proposals, Legal Panel Agreements, review of updated engagement terms for clients, sanction reports, assessing conflicts of merger and acquisition of or by clients, and etc. New Client and New Matter requests, Existing Client and New Matter requests, Preliminary Conflicts Checks, and etc.
• Monitor intake of requests that are received from 50+ offices worldwide.
• Delegate tasks amongst our 15-person conflicts team that are located in Johannesburg, South Africa, Louisville, Kentucky, and Washington D.C.
• Track team members assignments and verify whether team members are completing assignments by listed deadlines.
• Occasionally coordinate tasks with the rest of the Conflicts Department, including the Lateral Conflicts team and the New Business Intake conflicts team.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Financial Information and Record Management team, Billing team, Marketing, Engagement Letter team, and the General Counsel’s Office to solve tasks presented to our teams.
• Regularly partnering with the Marketing team and the Engagement Letter team as well as seeking input from the General Counsel’s office to compile documentation for Request for Proposals from existing or potential clients.
• Develop concise and accurate conflicts reports that are compiled in our team’s response to Request for Proposals, which could include conflicts research report on the companies and/or individuals listed in the potential work, a summary of the conflicts of interests clearances, the drafting of any specific engagement letter waivers that would be necessary to take on the client for that work, any other relevant information sought for the Request for Proposal.

• Presented a concise summary of the work being completed, the research compiled, and a summary of the conflicts of interested that were resolved through the clearance process to obtain approval for potential work to the General Counsel’s Ethics Officer for approval.
