Thanked every customer for their business and ask them to please come again. On Thursday,Friday and Saturday nights I hired off duty police offers to insure our (staffs) safety no fights, illegal activity was going on,or customers causing problems would leave when told. I was thrown into this position. The owners of west end bbq was a married couple whom didn't get along at all. The wife run day shift manager and for a couple of years the husband was the pm to am manager, until he started going to different bars,he then promoted me to manager so he could go away from the restaurant and have his "time away" So i learned on the job what to do.I eventually figured it all out and increased the profits by 45% on a daily basis and up to 75% on the weekends. Never had a loss in profit. Thats after inventory, workers wages and inventory was paid out.I would say I did a decent job despite the situation. It did become like second nature within a few months. The only reason I left was because the husband bought and opened his own bar after the divorce and the wife decided she wanted rid of everything that her husband had started except for me and the weekends profits. Eventually the night shift was the only shift that was profiting her so,my budget went down and i could no longer hire a off duty police officer for the weekend. Thats where everything went down hill. The restaurant got a bad reputation and it was fights every weekend nights. I put in my resignation the morning i seen a gun being drawn by a customer.
