Welding Inspector’s Responsibilities:

Familiar with Saudi Aramco Engineering Procedures and Saudi AramcoEngineering Standards.

To Ensure that All WPSs, PQRs, and Weld and Line Description Table shall be availableatthe work site for verification at any time by the authorized Saudi Aramco inspector.

To ensure that All WPSs and PQRs shall conform to the latest edition of the ASME SECIX

Verify the applicability of WPS to project construction work.

Monitor that the activities are performed as per specification at Job site, follow upand implementation of approved ITP.

Maintained and update the welder’s qualification record on weekly basis.

Monitoring welders and tracking their repair rates.

Evaluation of welder repair rate assessment reports on weekly basis and monthly submit to top management.

Verification of Calibration certificates of welding equipment and Electrode bakingoven, portable oven and inspection tools.

Preparation of QC concerned inspection formats.

Conducting receiving inspection of welding consumables to Ensure that the welding consumables are acceptable as per standards and Client Requirement and purchased only from clients approved manufacturer.

Responsible for raising RFI and perform inspection at site with Saudi Aramco Representative

(PID)

Perform Pre welding inspection, In-process inspection and Post welding inspection.

Monitors and inspect Preheat as per WPS before starting the activity. Preparing daily welding reports.

Ensure that all required NDT are carried out and acceptable as per applicable codesand standards.

Responsible for the marking and excavation of all weld repairs identified by theNDE department of the organization.

Witness the removal of weld defects if any welding repair and witness NDT activitiesduring and after execution of repairs.

Witness Positive Material Identification (PMI) and review reports. Ensure that thecorrect materials are installed and acceptable as per approved drawings, applicable codes and standards.

Raise INCR for deficiencies in Quality and to find the root cause and follow up for the required Corrective and Preventive action.

Solving technical problems at site to ease the construction activities.

Review of project related procedures and method statement as per applicable standards.

Conducting final walk throughand issuing the punch list.

PWHT control for Low Alloy Steel Materials.

Verification of correctness of welding consumables (electrodes, filler wires, consumable inserts, gases, fluxes etc).

Verification that dimensions, fit-up and weld preparations are in accordance with specifications.

Documentation

All the results of the inspections and tests are reported on a daily basis and the reports are reviewed and approved to the applicable code and to the customer specifications. Any deviations shall be documented and resolved.

Quality records shall be compiled in a test pack or called Quality Control Test Pack and submitted for final approval along with as built-drawing.

Keep & maintain a library of company spec, procedures, international standards, codes etc. as Client applicable spec & std.
