Responsible in making quality assurance plans, inspection test plans and other procedures to be approved by the client.

Reviewing of QAP’s, WPS, and PQR.

Witnessing of welding qualification and WPQ as per API 1104, ASME section IX & D1.1 and getting concurrence from client.

Monitoring of calibration, verification of instruments, tools & equipments.

Assuring fit-up & quality of main line weld and tie-in weld.

Material identification & traceability to MTC and drawings.

Making of PQRs and WPSs and getting approved by clients.

Responsible in RT interpretation of welding joints and other NDT.

Utilizing various welding techniques such as GTAW & SMAW as per requirements.

Trains welders in processes and welding techniques.

Monitors stage wise welding jobs & & fixing pre-heat, fit-up inspections, LHS, weld visuals, welder monitoring, NDT clearance register.

Responsible in isometric drawings and analyze the materials traceability.

Responsible in ensuring that all welding operations are executed in accordance with all relevant codes of practices and procedures/practices ensuring field welding inspection and surveillance as required during construction activities.

Coordinates with engineering, construction and liaises with the client on detail welding requirements.

Ensures that all installed pipe/fittings are to the correct specification and that the material is in accordance with the specified material traceability requirements.

Liaises between the client inspection department on all aspects of welding, heat treatment, hardness testing and non-destructive testing.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Mission: to ensure that all welding operations are executed in accordance with all relevant Codes of Practices and Company procedures/practices ensuring also field welding inspection and surveillance as required during construction activities

Tasks :

ensures fully detailed documentation of all welding activities are raised and completed prior to handover;

coordinates with Engineering and Construction and liaises with the Client on detail welding requirements;

ensures that all Welding, Heat Treatment, any hardness testing, Inspection and Non-destructive testing are in compliance with the relevant codes and specifications;

possesses a current Weld NDE Interpretation qualification;

ensures the use of the correct welding procedures and verifies all Welders qualifications and monitors both their application and performance;

ensures that all welding and testing related records form a complete package and reflect the ‘As Built’ integrity of the plant;

ensures that all welding work is performed under controlled conditions and consumables used are in accordance with the specification;

ensures that all installed pipe/fittings are to the correct specification and that the material is in accordance with the specified Material Traceability requirements;

maintains a daily Site Diary;

handles all welding technical queries and investigates all field welding related problems;

prepares a Weld Map and/or marks up existing drawings;

examines visually work in progress and effectively supervises the repair procedures;
