Tata Consulting Services – Director 12/14 – 2/2020

Engagement Director responsible for assisting finance executives in the strategic use of technology. I managed a 13 month project for a major insurance organization founded in 1810. The focus of the project was to merge two distinct reporting platforms to support both regulatory and statutory reporting. Also, on two separate initiatives for Fortune 50 companies, I assisted companies in the merging and divestiture of multi-billion transactions.

PWC - Managing Director (Oracle Practice) 02/11 –7/12

Managing Director in PwC's Oracle practice specializing in Oracle Financial System based Financial Transformation. Developed the financials implementation approach for GE Aviation and oversaw and provided quality assurance for their program. I internally assisted PwC by analyzing and making recommendations on how to more effectively leverage their onshore/ offshore model and their interaction with 3rd parties.

Cognizant Technology Solutions - North American Oracle Practice Leader 07/08 – 02/11

Hired to develop and grow (from scratch) a North American Oracle Consulting Practice. While Cognizant was quite strong in application management their ability to compete with Big 4 consulting organizations was nil. I was asked to develop the Oracle Consulting Practice. During my tenure Cognizant won and successfully implemented its first Oracle consulting projects ever. Revenues went for $0 to $80m for Oracle Consulting.

More broadly I was the North American Practice Leader responsible for all aspects of Cognizant’s North American Oracle Practice. My responsibilities included: driving and growing revenue, building the North American consulting and applications management organizations, contracting with clients, overseeing all client delivery and interacting with C-level client executives as required. Overall area of responsibilities included Oracle’s EBS, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, EDGE and Fusion middleware applications.

KPMG Consulting/BearingPoint

Partner/MD (Oracle and World Class Finance Practices) 04/86 – 12/07

Business Transformation Consultant with KPMG/BearingPoint for over 19 years, the last 10 as a Partner/Managing Director. Progressively expanding responsibilities included practice building and hands-on delivery and oversight of global transformation projects. As a partner I had hands on management of complex, global transformation projects for several of KPMG’s premier, blue-chip clients including:

Credit Suisse Group

Executive program manager of a Zurich based international team of consultants (from the US, UK, Germany and Switzerland) to assist the Credit Suisse Group in the design and implementation of a transformation project required to support CSG in the decentralization of four multi-bullion dollar business units: Commercial Banking, Private Banking, Asset Management and Investment Banking divisions. Key responsibilities included direct program ownership of all aspects of the program including:

Establishment of the Program Management Office (PMO processes, reporting and infrastructure);

Business requirements and analysis;

Design of global processes

Business organizational redesign;

Change management;

Technology design and implementation;

Program management of the entire project;

Design of a post-implementation support center-of-excellence;

Program Manger of a very major, multi-year transformation effort to redesign and standardize the global processes and technologies used in 40 countries worldwide. The focus was on Finance and included the implementation of the PeopleSoft Financials Suite. Application modules included general ledger, accounts payable, purchasing and fixed assets. I was personally responsible for all aspects of the project from initial requirements through implementation.

Ryder System

Overall program manager responsible for the complete transformation of Ryder’s finance and administrative functions. This three year project included significant business process redesign, design and implementation of a new chart-of-accounts; organizational change management; the implementation of centralized financial application systems (including GL, AP, AR and FA) which consolidated 80 remote financial systems into one centralized system); and the design and implementation of a shared service facility (including site selection, construction, staffing, training and rollout).

Mercedes-Benz of North America

I was the overall program manager responsible for a multi-year project to transform and standardize MBNA’s financial processes and technology to align with corporate standards. Worked with an international team from the US, Germany and France to define US requirements and then successfully effect change.
