PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

● Technology Leadership: Supported various systems from desktops to Wide Area Networks (WAN). As a Lead System Engineer I developed and managed technology operations, worked hands on with the Networking, Application Support and Help Desk teams as a Tier 2 and 3 technician to support 500 desktops and 600 mobile devices and related apps for 1100 employees in a distributed environment of 90 corporate offices, client and other remote locations across 180 buildings. Actively worked on support, conversions, and upgrades for all corporate and mobile applications, workstations, physical network, all telecommunications, and network interconnectivity of 180-location WAN. Developed and implemented effective IT governance, risk management, and compliance strategies covering various Federal and local programs. Worked with Regional Managers and Executives on capital budgets of $50M across the organization’s various sub corporations and clients.

● Cyber Security: Actively worked on cyber security initiatives, including risk assessment and management, deployment/upgrades of firewalls (Checkpoint, Juniper, Cisco), RADIUS servers, Network Access Controllers, Wireless LAN security, Mobile Device Management, Secure Virtual Private Network connections across 90 Plus office locations in addition to 90 other remote site and client locations, networked IP security systems (NVRs and cameras), and building access systems making them remotely accessible securely to the Managers and Security Teams. Established and monitored network security procedures and security frameworks.

● Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery – Coordinated the development and redevelopment of business continuity and disaster recovery plans based on lessons learned from direct experiences with disasters such as the blackout of the Northeast, and aftermaths of Hurricanes Irene and Sandy. De facto corporate point person for emergency events including coordinating physical building security patrols during the blackouts and additional tasks outside of the standard Information Technology scope. In part due to lessons learned from disasters I moved forward with Server and Desktop virtualization projects along with transitioning various systems to Cloud Services.

● Company-wide VoIP Telecommunications: Transitioned all locations from their on premise Avaya phone systems to a centralized cloud based VoIP system improving overall service, meeting business continuity goals, and reducing maintenance costs across the organization by $50K annually.

● Cloud Initiatives / SaaS: Transitioned MS Exchange Server and all office locations to Office 365. Negotiated with Microsoft to eliminate MS Exchange licensing charges, reduce the overall cost of Office licensing per seat and as a result delivered Disaster Recovery redundancy at lower costs than previous colocation plan. Managed the transition to and administration of various SaaS systems in addition to Office 365 such as YARDI Financial and Property Management System, Salesforce and Ultimate Software.

● YARDI Financial Property Management System: To meet government regulations and satisfy compliance needs, led a 2-year conversion project to YARDI, a financial property management system, based in SQL server, from UNIX text-based BJM Accounting and Property Management system. Partnered with department stakeholders to identify/reshape workflows. Scrubbed data, conducted training, and developed financial reports per Accounting and Financial Services requirements. In Phase II of the project transitioned from an on-premise system to the cloud SaaS model.
