Career Experience
March 2016 – August 2020: Outpatient PA-C, Formally First Choice Healthcare, now DBA Carolina Spine and Pain Centers, Upstate SC : Responsibilities include outpatient care to include clinical assessments, managing chronic pain medication, and ordering and interpreting imaging and diagnostic studies ( to include confirmation urine drug screens,, X-rays, MRI’s, CT’s, NCV/EMGs, Ultrasounds and lab work). I also am responsible for ordering interventional therapies such various types of epidurals and facet / joint injections, performing trigger point injections, ordering appropriate DME, and ordering appropriate therapy and surgical referrals.
January 2018- current: Expert speaker for Salix Pharmaceuticals, Southeast Region: Responsibilities include maintaining pertinent clinical and evidence based medicine knowledge on a variety of pharmaceuticals in order to educate physicians and advanced level practitioners on the most up to date information regarding proper prescribing and statistically significant outcomes regarding a selection of medications that are produced by Salix Pharmaceuticals.
November/December 2015 – March 2016: Nocturnal Hospitalist PA-C, Mary Black Hospital – Gaffney Campus, Gaffney, SC: I was the Nocturnal Hospitalist for this facility. I was the only Hospitalist on site at night, with an on call prn physician backup. My responsibilities included performing all overnight admission, emergency department consults, ICU coverage, post- op coverage, occasional newborn exams and general overnight medical management of all inpatients. As needed, I was also responsible for early morning rounding.

My responsibilities included autonomously performing Emergency Department consultations, admissions, and direct admissions. I also was responsible for rounding on approx 40-50 patients on average a day, which included performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting appropriate labs/diagnostics/procedures, diagnosing and treating a multitude of critical illnesses, consulting with various specialists and appropriately prescribing medications and therapies.
April 7 2008-Dec 22 2008: Outpatient Primary Care Pulmonary/Critical Care PA-C, US Department of Soldier Health, Fort Stewart SC – DOD contractor: Responsible for autonomously performing history and physicals, ordering and interpreting diagnostic labs and procedures, diagnosing illnesses and treating them appropriately to include prescribing medications, making referrals to specialist, performing minor surgical procedures and writing temporary profiles in a primary care and Family Practice setting, also responsible for pre and post-deployment soldier health through the Soldier Readiness Center, and occasional commissioning and separation physicals.
May 10, 2007 – March 28, 2008: Inpatient and Outpatient Pulmonary and Critical Care PA-C, Upstate Lung & Critical Care Specialist Spartanburg, SC: My responsibilities included treating patients in an outpatient and inpatient setting, performing hospital admissions & discharges, and call to include autonomously rounding, performing history and physicals, ordering and interpreting diagnostic labs and procedures, diagnosing illnesses and treating them appropriately to include prescribing medications, ordering procedures, conferring with specialist and making appropriate referrals. 40 hours a week,with call 1 in 4.
May 2007- March 28, 2008: SC Pharmaceutical Research Group,Spartanburg, Gaffney, and Union, SC: Sub-investigator for numerous research drug trials where I was responsible for screening patients for drug studies, performing physical exams and monitoring exercise stress testing. I was also responsible for being the company representative at national drug trial conventions. Hours varied each week.
