Work Experience
Jr. Preschool Teacher
Prestige Preschool Academy - Carlsbad, CA
January 2019 to February 2020
I started out as a teacher in the Preppers class, which is the 2 year old class. I was in charge of going over the months curriculum and figuring out which supplies I needed along with trying to plan out my activities. The goal was to have the curriculum planned out and set up at least a month in advance. This way when another teacher needed to stand in, they would know what to do throughout the day. The 2 year old class involved teaching routines, manners and potty training. I would go over days of the week, the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes and even the weather. The Preppers class got really full, so they split it up and opened Jr. Preschool. Jr. Preschool was a transitional class for the children who were potty trained, or at least mostly potty trained, but either were not 3 years old yet or had missed the cut off to go into preschool. They put me in charge of the Jr. Preschool class, where the focus on potty training was even more important. I learned a lot about potty training children at this school. I worked with a lot of children on it and successfully potty trained quite a few of them. Probably about 15 or 18 children.
Toddler Teacher
Montessori School of Oceanside 2 - Oceanside, CA
March 2018 to October 2018
At the Montessori School of Oceanside, I was the lead teacher of the Toddler class. I was in charge of planning the activities. I was given a theme every month that I planned my activities and decorations around. One example was when they had an ocean themed month, I decorated the class accordingly and planned out the activities for the children based on it. The children made fish hand prints and we read stories that had fish in them. Every month was a different theme and our decorations were to be made by hand rather than store bought. I also was teaching the children things like manners, routines and when and how to wash their hands.
